Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Sorting Hat pg 29

George took a seat at the back of the room. Snape scared him, and hoped that seating at the back would make him less noticeable.

Perpetua walked into the potions classroom. She saw Gabrielle (from the train) and Luna (from Ravenclaw) sitting near the front of the classroom. "Hey Gabrielle, Hey Luna." She said. She took a seat next to them. "So, Gabrielle, how was your first class this morning?" she asked.

OOC: just wondering but softball chick, what house are you in?

"Oh, Hey Perpetua, what did you think of DADA this morning?"

"It was okay. I can't wait until we actually get to do things. I hate the start of a new school year, we never actually do anything until later on. How about you, what did you think, Luna?"

"I liked it, Professor Quirrell's stuttering didn't bother me. I also dislike the beginning of the school year and I can't wait until we start casting some real defensive spells.

"I liked it, Professor Quirrell's stuttering didn't bother me. I also dislike the beginning of the school year and I can't wait until we start casting some real defensive spells.

"His stuttering didn't bother me either. I could hear other students whispering and making fun of him for it. I didn't mind though. Exactly, I cannot wait to get started, I'm so excited"

Luna sat through the potions lesson listening intently to Professor Snape. She took note on what he said and found it interesting but she couldn't wait to get out of the dungeon. She wondered what her next class was but she didn't want to take out her schedule, she thought she had double charms. She really wanted to find out when quidditch try outs were....

Snape started the lesson by asking random students about their knowledge in Potions, then mocking them if they didn't know the answer. George kept his head down, hoping Snape would miss him.

Lily ran hurriedly into the potions classroom. She was late, and by the look on Professor Snape's face, he didn't like it at all.

"Would you mind explaining why you're late?" he asked, an edge to his voice.

"I, um, couldn't find the classroom, Professor," Lily stuttered.

"Excuses, excuses. Ten points from Hufflepuff!" Snape shouted.

The other Hufflepuffs faces dropped.

"Now go sit down," Snape demanded. "There's an empty seat in the back."

Lily did as she was told; she was already on Snape's bad side, and it hadn't even been a day yet.

She sulked in her seat for most of the class, not really paying much attention; she was too humiliated. Lily knew she wasn't going to like potions. She had kind of liked DADA though; Professor Quirell seemed nice enough, if you could get past his stutter.

Daffodil was very intimidated by snape when he was asking questions she hoped so much he wouldn't call on her...

" Ms. Dancer! Do you know the answer?" Snape said

Oh no! She wasn't paying much attention!

" Umm... I'm sorry sir, I don't"

" Well! The answer is pupmkin juice!" Snape said rudly.

Daffodil sunk down into her seat. Upset.

Luckily, Luna wa asked an easy question
"Ms. Bagman, what is the correct name for truth serum?"
"um, veritaserum?" Luna answered sort of unsure.
"correct," snape answered, "five points to Ravenclaw"
Luna smiled, proud that she did something good for her house

Perpetua walked into the potions classroom. She saw Gabrielle (from the train) and Luna (from Ravenclaw) sitting near the front of the classroom. "Hey Gabrielle, Hey Luna." She said. She took a seat next to them. "So, Gabrielle, how was your first class this morning?" she asked.
"Hey Perpetua," Gabrielle said. "What class did you come from," she whispered under her breath.
Luna spotted Gabrielle in the front of the classroom. She a bit afraid of Professor Snape but she gathered some courage to sit in the front next to Gabrielle. "Hello Gabrielle," Luna said, "I just had defense against the dark arts. Where did you come from?"

"I came from Herbology, it was rather boring," Gabrielle said. "But I am loving this class."

Snape interrupted Gabrielle thoughts by asking her a question,
"What potion makes a person speak nonsense?"

"Oh that's simple, the babbling beverage."

"Well done Gabrielle," he said with a smile. "10 points for Hufflepuff!"

Gabrielle sat tall, proud that she had won back their points. She hoped Lily wouldn't feel as bad now.

"Hey Perpetua," Gabrielle said. "What class did you come from," she whispered under her breath.

Perpetua smiled at Gabrielle, not wanting to say anything to make Snape mad.
"Ms. Pheonixfire, do you perhaps know the answer to the question?" Snape asked.
"You didn't ask a question, sir." she replied.

"You are correct, I didn't" Snape said and went on to ask his next victim a question. This just confused Perpetua even more. Snape was very odd.

Daffodil was sure she would like this class, but she was very intimidated by Snape. She hoped that he'd stop asking all these questions and they could just get to the potions. She wanted to say hello to her friends but didn't want to risk Snape noticing.

Although she liked it, Luna was glad her potions lesson was over. After packing her books, she walked into the corridor and took out her schedule. She had double herbology next with just the Ravenclaws. She waved goodbye to her Hufflepuff friends and hurried to the greenhouses.

Before Defense Against the Dark Arts, Gabrielle decided to hang back and wait for the other students to clear out of the classroom. She had been wanting to ask Snape something ever since the sorting hat put her in Hufflepuff.

"Snape, may I ask you something?"

"What do you have on your mind," Snape asked tilting his head.

"Well, I know my mother was in your class... um... well do you think that the sorting hat made the right choice?"

"The hat is rarely if ever wrong Gabrielle, like your mother you are kind and want to help others, but she had a dark side. A dark side that I don't see in you," he answered.

"Yes but you hardly know me," Gabrielle said. " I am just worried. The Dark Lord has been looking for me and my family for years, ever since my mother left the death eaters, and I am afraid that it will anger him..."

"That you aren't in Slytherin... I see... Well Gabrielle, don't worry about anything now. The Dark Lord isn't looking for you, he is a bit preoccupied with our newest celebrity," Snape sneered.

"How do you know that?"

"Never mind, pretend as though I didn't just tell you that," Snape said. "Now run along," he said quickly and gave her a pat on the shoulder.

Gabrielle ran to DADA. Everyone else was seated, so she scurried to her chair.

"W-w-where h-have y-y-you been," asked Professor Q.

"I was talking with a teacher," she replied.

"V-v-very well, t-t-take your s-s-seat," he said.

Gabrielle found a seat in the back of the room and thought about what Snape said. How did he know that Voldemort was looking for Harry Potter?

Ignatius was quiet the whole week of school and went to all his classes ;)

OOC: You're in Ravenclaw right?

Luna saw Ignatius heading towards the common room, "You have herbology now, you know!" she shouted just making sure he knew where he was going ;)
