Cindy: Cindy laughed. "What should we name him?" She then turned to Jane. "Listen- I-I am really sorry about being so mean earlier..." But I wish you'd tell me this secret.

Prof. Smith: Professor Smith listened quietly. "Man, that's - that's terrible. I'm truly sorry, it must have hurt to hear about all of that. Linus was a two faced jerk."

Professor Black: She silently agreed with him, though only in a way. "It was due to him that I-and the students-were kept from harm. I don't understand; I don't know what to think. Anyway, though, there's more. Well, I'm not really sure how to tell you this." She stopped for a moment, deciding just to spit it out. "Jackson Finch went missing. I went looking for him, of course because his horrid mother was here. I ran into Recardo and I-well, I-I sort of said the first spell that hit my mind when he wouldn't tell me. I didn't know what I was doing, but it-it worked. He gave the information almost immediately. The cruciates curse." Melanie had never used an unforgivable curse before, and having used it then had tortured her (no pun intended).That one specifically had caused her so much harm. She'd promised herself she would never use it, and she'd promised her mother. "I found him dying in the chamber of secrets. There were over fifty death eaters."

Cindy: "Jane, if I need to make a decision we'll be here all day. How about... Spot, for her spots of calico." The newly named Spot jumped on Cindy's knee.

to be talking about a bigger plan. By the time I got down there, the snake had been reawakened and there was poison. It's rather odd, though, because Finch seemed to be the only one who knew what I was down there for. 'She wants Jackson. She wants her cousin," Melanie quoted, shaking her head. Never did it cross her mind that she had never told Evan exactly who her aunt was, though. "I can confirm that Grindewald is back. As soon as I cast my protection, they all disappeared-well, everyone but Finch and Malfoy."

Cindy: "No idea," she admitted. "Probably one of the toms back from my house. I usually let her stay there when I'm at the school over summer."

And the basilisk is back? Mel, this is just becoming our school years all over again!"

Jane: " This is so awesome! We should make a little box in the dormitory for the kittens and Mira to relax. That way the owls and frogs can't bother them."

Prof. Smith: "Seriously? Grindelwald is back?! Not another Dark Lord to deal with!" Evan burst out. Then he seemed to remember the rest of the conversation. "Wait a second. Back up. You're saying that your aunt, the one that was a death eater, the one that killed your mother, is the mother of the third year Ravenclaw Jackson Finch, so you two are cousins? And the basilisk is back? Mel, this is just becoming our school years all over again!"

Professor Black: "That would be correct," she said, her expression a bit saddened, for she had just realized something she should have known the day before. " My aunt seems much more demented now than she was when I was young. She was tall, and she was very beautiful, but in a wickedly evil way. She scared me half to death...Er-Evan, I-I think I know how she works now," she said. "My aunt. She wants to kill, but she doesn't hurry. She tortures her victims by getting the ones their closest to. Jayne," she said, speaking her mother's first name, "that was for my father. Gabrielle and Jane...they were for Jackson. And..." she didn't want to go on, yet Evan had a right to know. Melanie struggled to keep herself together. "And there's one more thing," she said softly.
