Veronica: Veronica turned pale. She would volunteer for answers occasionally, but she absolutely hated being called on. She coughed a little to clear her throat and read, "Well, I heard from a few sources that you give the worst detentions in school," that one had been from Professor Smith, but then he would know. "And I also heard once that you know where the Chamber of Secrets is." She thought she might get in trouble about the last part, people didn't usually talk about the chamber of Secrets.

Professor Linus: “I'm assuming that Professor Smith goes around telling you about my detentions? He wouldn't complain if he would have acted better.
Your other one we will save for another day. No need to discuss the mysterious chamber. Okay, how about Gabrielle? What are yours?"

Lucas: Lucas jumped. He hated being called on even more Veronica, he didn't voluntarily answer questions in class even if he knew the answer. "Um, well I heard that you were captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team in your day, and I also heard that half the students failed your NEWT class last year." Half was outrageous to him, but that was the thing about rumors, they tended to be outrageous.

Professor Linus: “Very well. Very well." He took a deep breath. “To be clear I do not drink any alcohol. It rots your brain. Which is the greatest friend you'll have." He glanced at Veronica. “I was also a Death Eater back then."

Lucas: Lucas wasn't sure, but he wondered if he was the only one who saw the irony in a former death eater teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Veronica: Veronica wondered whether that glance Professor Linus sent her was a random glance in her direction or if he had purposely looked at her, like he was trying to giver he a message. If it was a message, what did it mean? Did it mean she should use her brain? Did it mean it was okay she didn't have any friends, because she had her intelligence? She tried not to worry about it too much.

Jackson: I'm alright. DADA has always been my strongest class, so I'm excited. How about you?"

Professor Linus: He cleared his throat, I'm sure that we have some students who are running late so we will wait a few more minutes for them to arrive. Just keep quiet." He disappeared into his office.

Jane: Walks into DADA. Sits next to Cindy and takes out her book and wand.

Ella: Walks into classroom and sits next to Veronica.

Professor Linus: He trotted out of his office using his cable to appear more feeble than he was, or at least he thought so. “Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts. In this class you will show respect and tolerance. You will obey and not speak out of turn. I am Professor Mikial Linus and I will not be addressed by any other name. Pop quiz! If you've had me before this will be easy. I have had a tenuous and interesting career. Name two facts or rumors that you have heard about me. 5 minutes. Begin." He sat on his desk and pulled out a flask. He poured a clear liquid into it and shivered while he drank it.

Professor Linus: “Times up." He looked around the room as the students put down their quills. “Now don't be afraid, I won't get angry with the answers. Ms. Spencer would you start?"

Jackson: He looked towards the corner and saw Gab shoot him an unapproving look. He felt guilty.

Cindy: Cindy sighed with relief as Vanessa finally left, sitting on her left. Jane took her right. She scribbled down two facts, and was glad not to be called on. She listened to everyone's facts and felt something in her stomach drop as Ravenclaw gained five points. Gryffindor was already behind!

Vanessa: Vanessa too was glad to not be called on. She tried not to burst out laughing at the werewolf part. Why should Ravenclaw gets points for that? She perked up at the Death Eater part. Her father may want to know that.

Trust your professors and no harm will come. Make friends and be safe. Try not to get killed." He drank out of his flask. He then pulled his wand out and performed a spell which shot flames around the room which eventually hit the wall and left a large black mark on it. “Class dismissed."

Gab: she walked out of the room uneasy. What did professor Linus mean? Was he serious? Maybe he is always drunk, she thought to herself and smiled.

Vanessa: Vanessa's eyes widened at the Professor's announcement. What all did he know? She packed up her stuff and began to try and slip away, hoping the Professor didn't know she was a spy.
