Candace: She watched Dot over the top of her book as Dot raced around, gathering odds and ends and stuffing them into her satchel. Candace wondered where she was headed. She guessed she'd find out soon since Jane had instructed her to stay with Dot. A shiny golden cat strolled into the common room. "Oh good, you're back," Dot said, stroking the cat's silky ears. "Did Zi give you a treat for delivering the message?" The cat meowed solemnly. "That jerk," Dot muttered, though her pained expression suggested she thought the opposite. It seemed as if she had been good friends with Zi, but something had happened between them, and they weren't friends anymore. It looked like Dot missed Zi. Dot placed a caramel treat in front of the cat, who licked it up gratefully. Candace wondered what sort of message the cat had delivered, and she intended to find out.
