Long ago there was a man who wished to save his wife, who was dying from a spell somehow extinct to wizards in the present day. Gradually he became more and more anxious until finally, after months of searching, he took matters into his own hands. Taking his wife's favorite piece of jewelry, he created a lasting potion that would save her and dipped the jewelry in. But he was too late. As he looked over and his beautiful love, the life left her eyes. He would never be able to forgive himself.
Years passed, and the item was passed on to the man's daughter. "Keep the catcher with you; it will remind you of your mother, protect you from any curse, good or bad." And so she did.
After her, the item was lost to common man.

All at once, a green glow became apparent from the spell catcher around her neck, having finally finished sucking the spell out. She had had fatal injuries from her fall alone, so she would not wake immediately, but, slowly, her heart restarted.

To make things clear, Corbin gave her the locket. The locket was the spell catcher, which suspended her body as soon as the spell hit, so her heart was stopped. Corbin gave her the locket. The locket saved her life.
