Nagini: she looked up at him, her eyes wide. She forced herself over to him and threw her arms around him. "You're the best little brother ever." She was crying again. "You know I would never do anything to hurt you or Mel or Gabrielle. Honestly, I don't know who I am or who I want to be."

Jackson: He couldn't even remember if she had hugged him before. He started crying a bit too, trying to hide it. "I know who you are. You are Nagini Black. I am Jackson Black. You are the best big sister. Ever."

Prof. Xavier: He had overheard Mel and Georgie's conversation. "I don't think I am trained in marriage counseling."

Melanie: The light left her eyes just a bit. She hadn't expected her to bring it up, but she knew her answer wouldn't have been any different either way. "I'd respect his decision, of course. I'd still teach." Melanie had wanted to teach since she was a child.

Jackson: He had no intention of leaving. He just laid down on the bed next to his sister. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

Melanie: Her lips twitched. "Very unlikely." Being a Black, she had inherited the family's good looks, mixed with her mother's kind, beautiful face. And, although she had been asked, (many of which were during the time of Evan's absence) she had never been on a date.

Melanie: "I don't think that would be a good idea," she told Xavier. She turned back to Georgie and rolled her eyes rather playfully, then spoke more seriously. "Honestly, I don't think so." Melanie Black was a loving person, someone who was soft and would probably be a good mother. But she had experience certain horrors-things the average person would certainly not-that caused her to become upset, as was demonstrated when Toby was killed. Evan had had to come calm her down. She would need someone who would understand and be able to handle it if those things happened. They would need to still love her and comfort her. They would need to know of the risk of being involved with the Black family. There was, perhaps, a very small chance of finding that person.
