Jackson: "Thanks Professor." He set the tea down. "Please understand I am telling you this as my cousin, not a professor. I went undercover and worked with Nagini. She had been hiding in the chamber with Lucius Malfoy, Alaine, and Freya Finch. Obviously Freya is dead. Alaine is not. Gellert Grindelwald is back and has an army. He is working closely with Lucius and Walden Macnair. They said they murdered Rookwood. They also threatened Nagini." He sipped his tea. "Nagini isn't all bad. I feel for her. She is scared Melanie. I don't want any harm to come to her. Yes, she did some vile things but it was mainly Lucius and Alaine."

Professor Black: She took a moment to let it all sink in. "Nagini is under my protection," she said, "as she is still a student. I understand that she's had a rough childhood." Of course she herself knew what that felt like. She couldn't abandon the girl. Could there be a possible way to change her, with all she'd had to endure? "Nevertheless, you do realize that what you are doing could, presumably, get you killed? And I do know that Jane has been a part of this as well. I'll do my best to keep you all safe, but you've got to understand that sometimes not even the best of wizards can do that. Please be careful, and thank you for letting me know." There was no need to mention that the boy was now legally under her care; perhaps that conversation was for another day.
