OOC: My point here was showing Rowling's brilliance: she could take certain aspects of our world and put it almost unrecognizably into the HP story. It was quite brilliant, really, if you think about it, because depression is something that is affecting a lot of people these days.
That being said, I realize it isn't that uplifting...

And I did actually have a bout of depression a few years ago.
