I agree TLinden16 plus what other sport will a guy get cut open and go get stitched up either onthe bench or in teh dressing room and come back out for the rest of the game. Or like Thorton and Koivu play with cracked ribs and torn cartalidge etc. I would say no other sport I can think of other than maybe Rugby.

In what other sport do the men look so fine in a uniform? Baseball also seems more refined (well, except for the spitting!), more of a gentlemen's game. To me, hockey ranks right up there with WWF (dare I say it's not real wrestling?).

I had the pleasure (? if you can call it that ?) of watching a college baseball pitcher get hit in the jaw - fracturing it - one weekend.... and he returned to the mound the following weekend. Baseball is the best sport when played with passion.

I hate hockey.... all of the fighting is just more than I can take. Football is just as bad. A bunch of muscle-bound men growling and drooling at each other.

Definitely baseball and/or basketball... preferrably below the professional level!!!

Good for him back in a week not to bad for a baseball player as it would be. I couldn't see him getting his eye cut open or what have you and leaving to get stitched up and coming bacvk in that game to continue playing heck they go on the DL for blisters and hockey players play with broken bones.

Many great points made about both sports!
Hockey players are without a doubt the most rugged.
Baseball players have a wide variety of skills that most of us can only try to emulate.

I have determined that it really depends on my current mood.

I love a good baseball game on a warm Saturday afternoon with a nice cool brew and good friends. AAAHHHHH! Relaxing for sure.
Follow that up with a brawling powerhouse hockey game later that same Saturday night and you have one fine weekend! Yeah my blood is pumping just thinking about it!
