Sssshhhhh....... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Be very very quiet and don't let my DH hear but I just bought a poster off ebay from Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest with 16 autographs on it. Including ORLANDO and Johnny! (Its from a reputable company so I'm really thinking its real!)

Anyway its large, 27 X 40 and I really want to have it framed along with the Poster from Black Pearl which is the same size.

So where would I get frames that big without spending a whole lot of $$$$$ I know I had some large prints tailor framed and it ended up being over $100 each. I don't want to spend that much if I can keep from it.

We are going out of town Saturday and I know the town we are going to has a Hobby Lobby and a Michaels. Do they have frames that large that you can buy?

What do you suggest??

Bumping to see if anyone has an answer. I ebayed them and they are $50 there and i don't know how nice they are.

When we lived in CA I used to get things framed at Michael's. I was always really pleased with the results. The last thing I had framed was a large cross stitch item that my sister made for DD. If I remember rightly it cost $50 that for mounting etc. I'm sure that it would cost more now, as that was a few years ago

Good luck! :goodvibes

Be prepared for sticker shock. Having things professionally framed can start around $100, which including the matting and non-glare glass.

Keep an eye out for coupons. Michaels often runs 40% off on custom framing coupons in the local papers and flyers.

tkd lisa's suggestion was what I was going to post as well! Our Sunday paper usually will have a coupon for framing that will yeild 40% off. Occasionally 50% off.

You coul also try a local framing place and compare prices!

If you lived in Maryland, I'd suggest the frame shop my DH owns...he does a great job!!!

I have had all of my framing done at a local shop that specializes in framing. We didn't have a Michaels, etc. near us. They were fairly reasonable. I have the theater posters from all the Harry Potter movies and had 4 of them framed, not matted, just framed and they were $150/each because they are so large (larger then normal poster size). Framing is expensive. I have to keep an eye out for the Michael's coupons now that we have one near us!

We always use Michael (even WDW recommends them). Watch for their sale (about every other week or so) where you get $50 off a purchase of $100 - $199.99, $100 off a purchase of $200 - 299.99 and $150 off a purchase of $300 or more.

We are waiting for Micheals to finish a canvas we bought at WDW to be completed. We needed to get it stretched and a custom frame done. The total was $270 after the $150 discount.

In may we had two frames done that were the size that yours are. We got both from the DL Gallery in December. One was abou $150 and the other a little less. Both had the standard mat and glass. If you want a custom frame and backing it will be about that price. If you are willing to put it in a frame (and it may get damaged over time) then Michaels has frames for poster for about $20.

I might do te cheap frame for the non-signed poster, but the signed one I would definitely do the custom framing. It will last a lifetime them.

we went to Michaels but the piece was an odd size and the frame ended up costing more than the piece we were framing!!! The regular sizes were expensive but comparable to the other places.
