Hi, we will be staying at the Howard Johnson's for the first time later this month and I had a few questions. I read something that they always leave you two water bottles when they clean the room. Is this true (this would save me a trip to the grocery to buy water bottles before we arrive) and also how crowded does the pool get in the summer? Also, does the McDonald's nearby hike their prices above a regular McD's? Was thinking we might do lunch their but if they are expensive we might as well eat in the park. Thank you!

I have stayed at HoJo 4 times now and I have never had bottled water left in my room.

I have never stayed during the summer so really am not sure how crowded the pools get but there are two pools. The "main" pool would probably be more crowded as it has the small kids play area. The second pool is toward the back of the property in a courtyard partly surrounded by pine trees and is very pretty.

The McDonalds is a bit more expensive but I don't recall the prices being jaw droppingly inflated. If I remember correctlt it is still less expensive than in the parks.

I believe the water (and trail mix) only comes in the higher end- Home office rooms and I believe its only once or twice your stay

The pools looked cool but never had a chance to swim (plus the new kids pool was just underconstrution)

I also agree that the McDs wasnt surprisingly overpriced- But I much prefer to eat in the parks (course Im feeding just myself now days) as for about the same I can get a much better meal :)

We stayed in a Home Office room and got 2 water bottles every day. I just made sure to use the ones from the previous day. IF they are missing I think they will replace them. We also got trail mix packages, but didn't use them.

McDonalds prices seemed a little jacked, but not much. We walked in then out when we saw the crowd.

The Garden Pool was not nearly as crowded. During our stay the main pool got a lot of attention.

what is a home office room?

I was checking rates for 2005 and I could get a standard room for $59 or a balcony/premium view for $89. What kind of view might this be? Is this a suite or are the room sizes any different?

How many different types of rooms are there?

Brenda

Where did you check prices for next year? I am interested in staying next year.

I went right to the web site for HOJO's and booked our room for next year. We are staying from 2/22/2005-03/01/2005.

I just booked a room there for this summer. I shelled out the extra $4 for a Park view room so I hope it's nice. I have never stayed there, but I trust Mary from MouseSavers and she gives it big thumbs up. The bottled water would be nice!
