HO-HO-HO..We`ll put the RUM in Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum! 16 holiday nights at SF & RPR. A Nov/Dec 2023 Trip Report

Oooh how fun! I love the Boathouse - it is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney! I'm going to highly recommend the Filet sliders with Maitre D' butter there. It is my go-to dish; they are exceptional.

Your trip is getting so close now!! I can't wait to hear how everything goes for you and all of your fun plans!!

Oh those look so good!!!!

So many people love that place, I am so glad to be going back again. And yes, it is just around the corner now......excitement levels are rising indeed, we are so looking forward to getting back 😁

Add me to those who enjoy The Boathouse! We also really liked the truffle fries :D
I'm looking forward to seeing photos from the meetups!
Everyone has a great time with Carole and Tom. 🎉

And you know we will take lots of pictures!!

Thank you, you`re very kind

All this talk about the Boathouse! What a coincidence, I’m currently holding a lunch reservation for my upcoming trip. 😀 Guess I picked a good one! I‘ve only been to ds once since it became ds but this trip I’m not only hitting ds but Mvmcp as well. Been ages since I’ve been to a disney park. Thought it might be easier trying a party after being so spoiled by universal for all these years.

That lobster roll looks tempting but after just getting back from a trip to Maine and with your review I may pass. Can’t get lobster rolls like that in Charleston. I may have to plan another trip to Maine. 😂

Oh absolutely, I`ve never heard anyone say a bad word about this place.

I think that`s a wonderful idea going for the party, and I hope you really enjoy being back in Disney after such a long time.

Maine lobster!!! Hard to beat for sure, I`d agree it might be worth waiting till you can go back, I`d love to visit that area for the seafood alone, I think we`d be spoiled for choice.

Hope you had a wonderful visit to Maine :)

We're not going anywhere on Disney property this trip but your posts about the Boathouse inspired me to book a table at Lombards for lunch one day of our trip. We went there last time and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the seafood and the outdoor table by the water was such a relaxing break in our day (we're rope droppers). I always know we'll be in the parks for lunchtime so I like making TS reservations but there really aren't that many places in the parks especially compared to WDW.

We ate at Lombards last December as well and we enjoyed it. We will definately go back there sometime.

With one week to go.......aaargghhhh!!! Only a week......we`ve been chatting about other things we might like to do in Orlando and the surrounding areas.

On a previous Holiday trip we visited Celebration for their nightime event where it actually snowed, well ok it was fake snow and it was quite fun, but a one and done for us, no plans to go back and do that again.

To be honest, it was nice and I was glad we saw it, but they miss a trick here by not playing festive music before and during the snow which made it lack some atmosphere, we expected as did those around us, some kind of build up from someone, especially for the kids, but it was just kind of bland apart from the snow.

The other places we love to visit, and are much nicer than Celebration are Winter Garden and Winter Park.

Although we are just too early for their official Holiday offerings we`ll hopefully manage a visit to either or both of them this trip. Both these towns are beautiful on their own, but add in Christmas trees and decorations and you have the perfect visit.

One thing we will miss on the lake at Winter Park is the Rotary Club`s Annual Holiday Boat Parade.

On Dec 9th from 6pm till 8.30pm boats gather on the lake draped with festive lights and decorations, the dock is adorned with lights too which would be very lovely to see. It`s a very family friendly occasion and we are sorry we`ll miss it.

But I`m sure they`ll have decorations and trees to see before December, so we do hope to see something of their Holiday events.

Winter Garden is another place we just miss the official start of their Holiday events.

December 1st is when they do their lighting ceremony, but we have plans that night, so we won`t make that but again, we do want to have a wander and see what that beautiful town has to offer for the Holidays.

Everyone talks about Celebration and how they want to visit for the Holidays, but these two places are much nicer than Celebration, for us anyway. They both have so many beautiful restaurants and the towns themselves are very pretty and full of life too, we love visiting both towns whenever we`re in Orlando.

I`m not sure we`ll manage to do the other thing I really want to do, but I`d love to go and visit Trader Sam`s at the Poly. Twice on Disney property in one visit might just be too much for this self confessed Universal fan!!!

It does look lovely, but I`m not sure about having to line up to get in, I can get a cocktail anywhere, however it does appeal to me and I`m going to blame @disneyAndi14 for giving me the idea as Caroline and her daughter have been and some of the drinks on offer as well as the food has tempted me into making a visit one evening or even late afternoon.

The cocktails looks amazing and might be worth visiting for, I would say we`d need to get an Uber as I wouldn`t want to be drinking them on my own while Tom drives, he genuinely doesn`t mind, but it`s more fun when both of us are enjoying them.

So, it`s an idea right now and a maybe.....🍹

Yes, Lombards has a lovely menu and the restaurant is beautiful, I know many folks who`ve never been before are always amazed they`re within a theme park when they do go as it`s so traditional.

Lovely place to have a break for lunch out of the heat in the Studios. I did enjoy their shrimp and ahi tuna and they seem to have changed their menu slightly which is always nice.

Wow, we must be on the same wave length! We are doing Trader Sam’s after the Boathouse! Starting in DS with a late lunch then heading to the Poly to get on the TS waitlist. Will go to Grand Floridian and have a drink at the Enchanted Rose while waiting for TS. I am also excited to try ER… love Beauty and the Beast - especially with Emma Watson 💕! We’re actually ending the night with a sleigh ride at WL. I guess this Uni girl is kind of going all out with her foray into Disney this trip. 😂 Two nights over with the Mvmcp the other night.

Brilliant minds think alike don`t they.....lol......

That sounds about perfect! I`m not fond of the waitlist idea, that might put us off last minute though I think, but Enchanted Rose was a new one on me till last year until Lindsey had gone and sent me a picture of her outside it, I had never heard of it. But......the sleigh ride sounds wonderful, very romantic!!!

You will have so much fun doing those things though and the Christmas Party too!!! :santa:

We are going to the new Jollywood Nights Christmas party at Disney Hollywood Studios on Dec. 6th.

We got a cheap room at Pop Century Resort so we can take the Skyliner to DHS and then back to our room after the party. Seemed like a better idea than trying to get an Uber back to RP at 1am when we are exhausted.

We will go there early in the morning and drop off our overnight bag so we can spend the day at Disney Springs before the party. Last time we were at DHS was 2016 so we haven't seen Galaxy's Edge or Toy Story Land. They are also promoting this as a more adult party with lots of specialty drinks and food. So should be a good time.

Side note: the weather app on my phone is showing high 70's for your first couple days in Orlando and up to 80 on the Sunday. Should be really nice. Just hot enough, but not too hot.

That sounds like a fun party and yes such a good idea to spend the night in a Disney hotel, much better idea than having to get all the way back to RP. You`ll be ready to hit the sack after such a long day. I haven`t even heard of that party!

And yes, you have a lot to catch up with since 2016.

That works for us, we have 42F tonight!! 42!!! Anything is better than that ::yes::

It's 33F here right now which is considered extremely warm for this time of year. It was about 20F overnight.
It's usually at least 20 degrees colder by now. 🥶

So 80F sounds fantastic to us!

Oh that`s far too cold for me!! We`re much milder, but when it`s cold, it`s cold even in this part of the world. I think there`s a reason there are certain parts of the world I`ll never visit!!

Yep, 80F sounds glorious right now!

I love your idea to maybe try Trader Sam’s Grotto. It is a fun experience. The wait can be a pain. We have had luck showing up around 2pm to get in right at or close to opening. It can be a long wait depending on the time
you arrive.
Your trip is coming up quickly! I’m sure you are getting excited 😆

It does look lovely, and your pictures made it look so tempting!! But, the thought of having a long wait if we`re not lucky is putting my mister off going....so it`ll be a last minute decision i think. I need to show him your cocktail pictures again....that might work!!

Yep, we are getting closer...... :santa:

We love The Boathouse and Trader Sams.

So excited for you guys!

Everyone only has good things to say about both places which is always nice to hear!! I think I have some work to do on Trader Sam`s to convince Tom that waiting is not always a bad thing lol......

Thank you, we`re pretty excited now ourselves ::yes::

Hope you`re doing good, always nice to see you pop in and say hello :wave2:
