Ho! Ho! Ho! Away we go - A Disney Christmas - 2/15 Dec TR final thoughts and FEB TR!

I saw that their was Vera talk over here from Anita's thread... and I can't miss that.

I have no experience with either... but have a gift card that is really burning right now in my purse. Off to the Vera website I will go....

Jackie the big backpack is totally awesome for park touring. It will be my park bag for sure for a long time!

Anita... I don't Ebay... but you could sure be a commerical for them. I don't text, ebay .... I know I date myself too much.

Laura, You are missing out, especially with the ebay thing.....

My only worry is that it will be too big. Do you feel like it is huge?

It flattens nice even if not full... if that makes any sense. I think it holds a lot, but does not look bulky if you have it somewhat empty. Although your carry items to the park is less than mine.(but we take another backpack too)

Good to know! Thanks! I do have to put all of Charles' diabetic stuff in my park bag -- all that can take up some room.

But if I stay away I don't spend.... right?

I don't even look!

But that new bag looks awfully cute... I think Get carried away sounds perfect for a cruise!

As far as the Veras, I have been lusting after the Weekender since it came out -- that's the one I would keep. It just screams " adult getaway" to me! :thumbsup2

Heading off the ebay.....

Lots of nice weekenders over on ebay...:rolleyes1

You are bad, bad, bad, Anita! ;) I am saving my Vera budget for the large backpack in Paprika for this summer in the parks. :goodvibes

Speaking of that, have you seen the frill backpack in paprika? They had it at my Vera store for 50% off. Very cute and water proof!

WOW... I slip off to finish my photopass CD, and you ladies have a dialogue about Vera's.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It really is a catching disease, isn't it??!! Now I see why Shocker was so worried... :rotfl: Okay, okay, so I hear Ebay (must check) and "Weekender" vs. "Get Carried Away" -- perhaps the Weekender best with the shape and its certain style (though I agree I love the other name!!!) ... but what do you think of the patterns? This is the concern I have.... I do like the yellow bird, I think it is kinda sophisticated compared to my other more playful prints.. but I don't want "grandma's couch" either.... I WILL only end up with one... of course depending on what I see on Ebay, that is.... :rolleyes1

Jackie, I will reply to your Christmas comments tomorrow! I must get to bed fair ladies!!!! With dreams of Vera Patterns dancing in my head... ;)

WOW!! You got soooo much done in such a little time!! Your MK morning sounds wonderful!! Sorry about the rain but so glad you were able to get so much done and with minimal crowds!! Can't wait to hear about the parade!! :goodvibes

Hmmm....as far as the Vera is concerned I'd probably go with the Yellow Bird Weekender...because basically I'm a little OCD...and I think it would go with more things...It would blend with black or white or creams, yellows, golds, etc...

"Get Carried Away" is a fun name though...:lmao:

I loved your Christmas morning...gifts, Santa excitement...(I think its cute that your boys like their cereal dry...both of my kids...including my 15 year old...like it that way...here I think its all about the appropriate milk/cereal ratio...

How awesome to have the park so much to yourselves...riding SM 6 times is a kids fantasy come true...

I wonder if you got lucky with the crowds because everyone was sleeping or the rain or both...(I'm taking mental notes...:lmao:)

Was the Christmas parade-the 3:00 one or earlier?

Yum Flying Fish...can't wait to hear all about that...
:surfweb:

Seeing the vera talk going on I had to come out of lurkdom to post this picture from our trip last fall. We were at AK waiting for the train to rafiki's planet watch and I saw this cute couple with their matching his and her's vera backpacks. I love wigd's trip reports and had remembered how she got some of her manpri pics so I said "hey Nick, stand right here so I can take your picture..." Dh thought that I was nuts for using our child to take a picture of random strangers, but being a huge vera bradley fan I just had to. And I had to point out how much I liked that the man was carrying his own vb backpack.... DH just said "NO!"

:rotfl2: hahahahah I am laughing so hard at that Vera picture!! I would have done the same strategic move taking a picture!! So funny!! :cool1:

Santa found you!! :goodvibes Christmas morning looked wonderful and the boys were again so very cute! :) SM 6x! That is awesome!! :worship:

Back to Vera....I have the weekender in Purple Punch....really nice sized bag and I use it on weekends :rotfl2: when I go to our cottage in PA during the summer. I also have the regular luggage and I love the small rolling travel tote....It was a great carryon and held so much :thumbsup2 I think I really like the new pattern with the daisies but I want to see it in person :lmao: Daisies are such a happy flower! :flower3:
Wait a minute....did you say that was THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE CASTLE????

Looking forward to some flying fish :thumbsup2

Tracy

What a wonderful christmas morning!

I wouldn't say you were just lucky in the crowds I would say you were avoiding being one of "them". It sounds like you did Mike proud.

What a PERFECT Christmas morning!!! The rain stinks but it sure looks like you made the best of it! I LOVE your little tree and stockings!:goodvibes

Well, on the Vera....I had that very same weekender in my cart last night and when I went to check out it was unavailable:confused3 so, that's the one I would pick. I haven't seen the other bag in person but I've been eyeing those weekenders for a while! Love the backpack picture. That's the first time I've seen one on a man :)

I don't know if boys ever get over clobbering each other - mine still do it on a regular basis!

I really, really wanted to see the MK Christmas parade, but didn't, so I'll have to live vicariously through you :thumbsup2

That is so funny... I had a feeling this would be the case. That is why I keep telling DH we need ONE more...

Well I will do my best to help fulfill your desire to see the parade! I took lots of pics, and we had a good spot except for this kid on his dad's shoulders who shifted in and out of some photos!!

So cool that you got to meet up with Wigd!

I love the flask!!! :lmao:

We LOVED Storm-a-long Bay! My kids would have been content staying there all day!

You had a beautiful day in Epcot!

That must be so awesome to wake up in Disney on Christmas morning! :lovestruc

Wow, who would have thought you'd have MK practically to yourself on Christmas Day??? :thumbsup2

Yes I know! It was a surprise, and really all because of the rain I am sure... re SAB, oh ours loved it too, and this was in December! This June I bet they will want to be there all day!

It was really great fun visiting with WigD and family and touring around Epcot with them!

What a wonderful Christmas morning! I don't know which part is my favorite! Waking up at Disney on Christmas morning, how cute your boys look in their peppermint t-shirts, an almost empty Magic Kingdom, your boys trying to pull out the sword in the stone, or the fact that there was pink ice cream in your cappucino float!

Oh! Well I guess I have the same problem, then, because it was all wonderful and I have a hard time deciding the same thing!! You know I tried and tried to find them a "boyish" T shirt design, and I finally said you know the peppermint works, and they will like those, so I am glad I made the same design. :goodvibes Oh let me tell you those little touches, pink icecream! Cracks me up -- it was green in October! Do you remember? That cappucino float is the best use of a snack credit hands down!!!

Christmas Morning in the Magic Kingdom is 100% warm fuzzies.

Boo about the rain, but like you said, if it kept the crowds away, it was awesome!

Space Mountain six times in a row??? Good thing DS only had dry cereal that morning. :rotfl: Which, by the way, is how my kids like to eat their cereal, too. I bought the new chocolate Cheerios at the grocery store this weekend, and I can't tell you how much my kids have already eaten dry!

CHOCOLATE CHEERIOS??!!! Oh dear... we tried the fruity cheerios (not Fruit Loops clearly, hence no one liked them!!) but Honey Nut Cheerios is a good staple for us... wow Chocolate, yup mine would eat the whole box too!!!

YES. Space Mountain SIX times. Even I was stunned... I was stunned after three... it must be something about size... like his equilibrium isn't effected the same way or something.... :faint:

Yeay for a Christmas parade coming up!

Oh let me say that the parade was one of the best parts! I loved it!! My photos are okay, but it was so fun to watch!

WOW!! You got soooo much done in such a little time!! Your MK morning sounds wonderful!! Sorry about the rain but so glad you were able to get so much done and with minimal crowds!! Can't wait to hear about the parade!! :goodvibes

We just stormed the castle, basically... well, literally :rotfl: It was storming at the Castle!!!! :rotfl: Okay okay, not so funny, but you get the picture! We definitely took advantage of the absent crowds those first few hours. I think people hung out waiting for the rain to stop, then were concerned that is wasn't going to and went ahead and came. All at once around 10:00 am!

No, you are not OCD in this department. I refuse to wear jewelry that isn't the same color metal (silver, gold, etc) including my belt buckle if I am wearing one, and I must match shoes, belt, and bag, or I won't go out. Yes, I think you are right, all the neutrals really. So yes more options. The teal pattern is nice, but visualize it mostly with denim, while, black or brown accents, not as much flexibility. And yes, a fun name!

I loved your Christmas morning...gifts, Santa excitement...(I think its cute that your boys like their cereal dry...both of my kids...including my 15 year old...like it that way...here I think its all about the appropriate milk/cereal ratio...

Thanks! Yes it was a fun morning, again, I was worried that they would be disappointed because the tree was a little bare.. Not that we buy them gobs of gifts, but we have gifts for us and from relatives as well and it does look very different on Xmas morning! But they were just so happy, and that made me happy, too.:goodvibes

In fact when we sat there waiting for DS and the crowd to go on Mission Space in Epcot, DS4 said. "I just love Disney World, Mom." I could have cried... It as so nice to hear him say something like that. :lovestruc

Good question about the weather. My guess is that the rain deterred people from coming as early as they had intended, not that they were being leisurely. I am sure there were those, too, but I think people loitered at their resorts, etc. and debated the "right time" to just go... and then they made a break for it and a large # came all a once.

The parade was held twice a few days right at the Holiday -- so we saw the 12 noon version...

Flying Fish will be by this weekend I think! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: hahahahah I am laughing so hard at that Vera picture!! I would have done the same strategic move taking a picture!! So funny!! :cool1:

I agree!!! That was pretty funny :rotfl2:

Santa found you!! :goodvibes Christmas morning looked wonderful and the boys were again so very cute! :) SM 6x! That is awesome!! :worship:

YES he did! the Boys knew he couldn't bring all their gifts to Florida, but they were very happy with what they got. My DS7 had a new lego set and he had it with him the whole morning at the MK! He refused to leave it! That was the case with DS4's iguana..

And yes, six times. Fortunately it was only 3 times for me!!!

I DID see that pattern in person. It is a cool pattern, very graphic in style and the navy and pink work. :thumbsup2

Wait a minute....did you say that was THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE CASTLE????

Yes, I cannot tell a lie. I had never been through that archway before. It was very special!

It really was special, and yes I kept telling myself we were going to be good about our park plans, and I guess it paid off! :thumbsup2

What a PERFECT Christmas morning!!! The rain stinks but it sure looks like you made the best of it! I LOVE your little tree and stockings!:goodvibes

Thanks! We did make the best of it, and frankly the best was great because the rain let up pretty early on... I think after ride 3 of Space Mountain it cleared!!! or at least stopped!

Well, on the Vera....I had that very same weekender in my cart last night and when I went to check out it was unavailable:confused3 so, that's the one I would pick. Oh dear!!! :sad2: I hope I didnt take it from you!!! I ordered it early in the am, around 9 I think... the extra 10% yesterday helped to convince me... I don't need both though so I have to decide. I am glad you like the weekender too.

No, you beat me by about 9 hours :) I didn't need it anyway I just got carried away by the extra 10% off!

Bunch of Vera enablers. I wasn't even in the market for one until I read this. Seriously, we should all start to sell add space on our TR's. :upsidedow It would be a smart investment for Vera!
