So we have the following already:

Royal Street Veranda at 50 Esplanade Road
Cafe Orleans at 40 - 42 Esplanade Road
French Market at 30 Esplanade Road
21 Royal at 21 Royal St (Second Level)
Blue Bayou at 31 Royal Street
Mint Julep Bar at 19 Front Street
C33 at 33 Front Street (Second Level)
C33 Lounge at 33 Front Street (Second Level)
Harbour Galley along the Rivers of America

Now they are going to retheme Le Bat en Rouge at 35 Royal Street into a Tianna-based Quick Service Gumbo shop (which the Royal Street Veranda already is, but serves horrible gumbo).

10 Dining experiences in such a small land just seems very odd. I'm all for serving GOOD Gumbo and Beignets at the Former Le Bat en Rouge (vs the horrible gumbo served exclusively at Royal Street Veranda), but what are you going to do with the Royal Street Veranda and Mint Julep Bar?

Where did you hear this? It's not true. It's going to still be a gift shop.

I read the same thing a while ago in an article, though I'm unsure of where I read it. I also saw someone else talking about it on the boards a few months ago. Where did you find out it is still going to be a store?

Fresh Baked confirmed it was not going to be another restaurant. It's just that Disney put up a Tiana themed graphic that said "something new is cooking in this space." It was just an assumption people made, but numerous cast members shot that down and said it would be a merchandise location still. There is no infrastructure there for a restaurant.

Interesting! I know I read it in some article and have seen others talking about it. It's funny how rumors get started. I was sad when the dress store closed there, I always enjoyed looking through it so glad some sort of shop will go back in.

I don't mind it, but the area is so congested.
We grabbed dinner at French Market during the dinner rush and my gosh it was impossible to find seating. We ended up sitting on the stairs with our bread bowls on our laps.

Guess I've been out of the loop. I've been catching up on Disney news and saw an article about it being transformed into counter service. The infrastructure is already available as it backs up to Blue Bayou and the kitchens for BB/C33. Just thought it odd that ANOTHER restaurant would be going into NOS when the back side of restaurants (pun intended) "facilities" for after you eat at the restaurants in NOS are extremely limited.

By infrastructure, I meant water and electricity hookups to support a kitchen. There is also no space to add that stuff there. It's not as simple as "there are kitchens nearby."
