Helllloooooooo !
My FI and I decided on Disney fo our Honeymoon and I can't wait !!!:bounce:
The wedding is Sept. 20 th 2003 so we're HMing that last week in September.
We bought one of the travelers books on Disney and it said that Sept has the least amount of kids as well as the best prices !!
wwooo hooo !
I have studied up and have read different threads, so Im a little edjucated :) .. WERE going to wear the ears !! I PROMISE !!:p
My question is ....
We'd like to stay inside the MK.. so our choices are...
Ploy
GF
and
WL
(we don't like the contemporary :)
.. Id like a room that's spacious with a jacuzzi...
We're leaning towards the WL Villas OR GF jacuzzi suite.
I told him the GF is kinda fruffy.. and he said he doesn't really mind...
I LOVE the wilderness villlas
BUT I haven't seen much of any suites at the Polynesian ...
If anyone has any pics of any of the
"jacuzzi suties at GF"
or
"suites at the polynesian"
Please let me see.
Also, If you have any ideas for us .. join in !!
THANKS ! cheely:D

You might like the honeymoon rooms at the WL. We stayed in room 7084 for our WDW wedding/honeymoon trip in Aug. 2002. These rooms have a big bathroom with jacuzzi tub, as well as concierge service, completely private balconies, and a PERFECT view of the MK fireworks. There are only 4 honeymoon rooms at the WL, and they really are a bargain compared to the GF rooms, plus you get concierge service, unlike the villas. Only 2 of the 4 honeymoon rooms have the MK fireworks view, so make sure that you request an MK view if you are staying there. It's also neat being on the 7th floor of the WL.
I don't have any pictures scaneed in, unfortunately, but I think these rooms are very similar to regular WL rooms except for the big tub/bathroom and totally private balconies.
We also got little towel animals made for us while we were staying there, and the concierge staff was very helpful and friendly. Quite nice to come home in the evening, get a liqueur and some desserts, then go to your room to watch the fireworks.
Cheers!

You might also want to think about renting points from a DVC emember and staying in a 1BR at the WL, BWV, OKW, or BCV...they all have a jacuzzi tub...plus they all have a king bed and a seperate living room. The BCV and BWV have locations that simply can't be beat plus some of the best pools on property.

Renting points during that period for a 1BR will run $1600-$2000, no tax, which is about what three nights in the honeymoon suite in the other resorts would run, and you'll have twice as much room!

My choice would be the Grand Floridian honeymoon suite.

It just looks so impressive and romantic. I would stay there. We're doing the Poly and AKL in May. Our next visit after that will be the GF.

Hi! We stayed in a HM jacuzzi suite at GF in October 2001 for our honeymoon. For our honeymoon it was definitely worth it. We could see the castle from our room as well.

I'm sure you've read this, but you can only request the jacuzzi suite. You book a honeymoon suite, and request a jacuzzi suite.

I don't have any pictures scanned in either. Sorry. They are at home. The rooms are similar to regular rooms, have the floral theme, have a balcony, a tub with jets, a king bed, private floor (separate from rest of building), concierge service, and in the main building.

The GF is sort of fruffy, but not at the same time. People are always in shorts and t-shirts. You'll see people in wedding dresses and tuxes for weddings, suites and dresses for Victoria and Alberts, and shorts and t-shirst for the rest of Disney. My husband isn't a frilly sort, but fell in love with GF. The monorail is great too.

My honey and I are also HM'ing down ther the same time as you! We're getting married on 9.19!

We're staying in one of the HM rooms at WL for, I think, 7 nights? Then heading over to AKL for 4 nights (my FI insists on doing the Sunrise Safari!)

I can't wait! So psyched!

OMG.. you guys are so helpful !!!
stinker... .. what .. if you don't mind telling me was your grand total for the HM room at the WL ???
7 nights is amazing ! :Pinkbounc
WE want to stay for 6 at least.
WOW !! Maybe Ill see you down there ! :) You can e mail me if you don't feel comfortable telling me on here :)
yippppeeeee...
I guess we'd better get on the ball then if there's only 4 rooms.. YIKES !
Anne2 ... wow ! Your HM sounded perfect !! I love the luxuriousness of the GF .. it IS soo honeymoonish :) The GF jacuzzi rooms are just like the WL jacuzzi and Poly rooms right ?.. with the jacuzzi in the bathroom to kind alook like an oversized tub...?
ducklite .. good thinking... yeah, honestly ... it's probably going to run about the same money to get a reg room at the GF as a WLV !!!
hmp2z I didn't even think of that!!! but as I said .. I guess I reallly gotta get moving if there's only 4 of them and Stinkers already got one !! :) That sounds exactly like what we want ! ..and the WL is os much more FI than the GF :)
Thanks for everything GUYS!!! :)

are we gonna have to fight over the HM rooms Cheely? heheh (I'll be there before you! :P hehehh - Just kidding! actually, we are not checking in until the 21st I think! My future brother in law gave us a night at the Hyatt at the airport for our first honeymoon night (we don't get into FL until nearly 9pm) so I'm looking forward to that too!)

I'm honestly not 100% sure what our GRAND total was...that was FI's ONE JOB in the whole "wedding planning process" and he did a damn fine job if you ask me.

Because we are going down for so long (I think 11 nights/12 days total?) he worked it out so we JUST booked the rooms through Disney, and we are going to get annual passes for the parks. (Even though we live in CT, the annual passes will actually save us something like $250 rather than paying for the length of stay pass) FI worked that whole thing out...so I'm not really sure what the total is after all is said and done...I want to say maybe around 5k? Yeah - NUTS...we didn't book a HM package though - in my opinion, waste of money!

Going back to the HM room at the WL - we requested one of the ones that faces the MK...still hoping we get it...but regardless, I'll be back in Disney, so I'll be happy!

Let me know if you have ANY more questions - ok?

Thanks, Stinker...
Don't worry ... Im not one for cat fights at all ! :)
at least not over a hotel room :)
I know wherever we stay will be fun .. and we're going to be at the parks so much .. that we probably won't even notice the room, ya know ? ??
Hey- I got the Disney vacation DVD last night and we watched..
I WISH they had had more info on the resorts and showed all the room types they have, but they didn't :(
..maybe it's just me , but the Poly didn't seem that great... kinda old maybe ...same style rooms as all the others...
,and the water at the Poly and GF didn't seem really swimable.. are we just supposed to have only water sports there ??
Do we just swim in the pools ??
hahahah???

I don't think you can swim in any of the water at DW besides the pools.

I know you can't swim in the water at WL, either.

I don't know if it is because of the boat traffic, sudden drop-offs or amoebas (sp?)-they have a big problem with those in the lakes in Florida.

I wasn't sure if you knew this or not by reading your post.

Have fun.

there is no swimming in ANY of the lakes at WDW. sorry! :(

including the carribbean beach resort. (go fig - a BEACH resort where you cannot swim in the water.)
