No, read again If the world serice ever stops for an unknown reason, that's the first warning sign and people start to worry. As for starting a nuclear war... last resort, doncha think?! But that's why the ballistic ssubs exist, as a final chance and deterrent

Peopl who are unfarmiliar with Douglas Adams yet don't want to do the reading, there is a computer game (not a very good one) based upon his books called Starshiip Titanic. Worth a gander, you can find it on eBay for around $5. As I said, not the greatest game, but it introduces you to Adams' style VERY quickly and will make you laugh, I promise you that
