I cannot downlaod DING at my work. I followed the back door instructions from earlier in the post and I am not sure if it worked. This is what I see on the page it brings up.

Did I do something wrong? Can someone please help?

Thanks!

Just thought I'd mention I'm now getting a similar message. Maybe it has something to do when you use the link. It worked for me yesterday morning. Maybe there has to be an active DING for it to work. I plan to keep checking.

I retrieved this DING via the backdoor method. The other message must pop up when a ding is not available. Anyway, it's working now.

EDIT: boswellnakia - hope things are okay with you - I've come to depend on your ding posting! :)

Thanks for missing me. Been away 3 days for a meeting. Surviving only with my blackberryhanks for missing me. Been away 3 days for a meeting. Surviving only with my blackberry. I can not check Ding with it, shucks. Be back late tonight and I will get back to watching those fares. Come on April and May!

I thought it might be something like that but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything more serious. I missed a DING last night. :( I got home just as it was ending. I clicked on the ding message and it flickered and died! Oh well, I'm trying to keep them posted.

I hope those of you having difficulties with DING have been able to get it fixed. Wish I could be of help but I'm not good at troubleshooting unless I've got my hands on the computer.

Okay, fellow ding-ers...

I'm hoping and praying for a Ding from PIT-Orlando. Seems like a pretty common Ding, but I need it in September. When should I start religiously watching for it??

It's hard to say when they appear. Most are around the 2-3 month time period but for my area the closer you get the cheaper the fare. I'm sure DING is used to sell those empty seats. I feel like the more flexible you are the cheaper the price. I usually gamble and wait. So far (knock wood) I haven't been disappointed.

You could get a general idea by going back and checking out the posts in the thread. I think when it started the postings were for Nov Dings with flight dates in Nov, Dec, & Jan.

I was planning to go again in February but have decided to save my money and take a longer trip this May or June for Star Wars Weekends. I'm not looking for anything currently but I like to keep up and I think the history will be a great tool for future research.

Does the back door approach work for MAC's?

The header on this FAQ on flyertalk is titled 15. How can I use Ding on a Mac or on a PC at work where I cannot install software?.
I don't have a Mac so there is no way for me to check but I'm guessing it will since you are only using a browser. I guess you'd need to register and temporarily download it on a PC to get the link.

You beat me Carolyn. As much as I like to travel, there are some trips that it is good to be home. Thanks everyone for covering and keeping the Dings posted.

Welcome back. Glad to have helped. You beat me most days. I get busy at work and forget all about checking. Of course when I'm looking for a flight I make sure I don't forget. :)

Were you able to register? You will need to link through DING or set up the backdoor entry in order to take advantage of the DING fares. You can't get them just by going to Southwest's web site when someone posts the fares.
