Well, as most Nevadan residents know, the Frontier was blown up this morning. Las Vegas has only a couple CLASSIC things. I think it would be nice to have some old buildings to look at when I drive down to the Strip. So basically, we have no historical monuments. :(

Does you city have any monuments? Or just historical buildings?

Nope.
Nada.
Everything is being torn down for new buildings, roads, casinos.
Stuff like that.
But then again,I live in a very small town.

the only monument i can think of is a war memorial for those who died during WW1 and WW2 which is in our park. I think there are some historical buildings too (i know ours is from victorian times)

My actual town has a few...
Nathanial Huddy (I believe that was his name) was hung by the British during the Revolutionary War, and we have Huddy Park and a monument for him. :)

My college town is FULL of monuments. :)
Gettysburg, PA. Home of one of the most important Civil War battles... so no wonder there is a ton of monuments. I don't even know how many, but there's a huge national park of the actual Battlefield.... And like a monument every half a mile or so... lol

We have a folly.
The Folly Tower was first built in the 18th century by local
ironmaster John Hanbury. It was demolished in 1940 amid
fears that it might guide German bombers to the nearby
Royal Ordnance factory at Glascoed. The tower was rebuilt
in 1994 and opened by the Prince of Wales(don't get me started on the prince of wales thing)

big woosh right?
Wales was all about coal and ironworks. We have a few existing as museums now. Coal, iron sheep and slate that's pretty much wales.
The south is the worst. It's just rough valleys, ex coal mines, ironworks and Cardiff.

Too many to count.

I live in Washington D.C.

::yes::

Agreed

Except

VA

(PS... I like the initials of va because the slant of the v kinda fits with the a because the a has a slant..isnt that cool??)

My town is basically a huge peice of history.
All of the houses are like, old Victorians. And then there's this old museum thing, and a bunch of old monuments.

But then I live next to NYC, which is all brandy-new.
So I guess it balances out.

I think my town has the most trees in one square mile for a suburban town or something like that. Down the shore their was a bar called the Bootlegger which was in the movie Dogma and their was a bridege that was in a Harley Davidson commercial and the Twin Lights(lighthouse).

lol a bunch... liberty bell... independance hall (where the constitution and dec. of independance was signed).. ghettysberg... lots of civil war and american revolution areas... all the places in the Rocky films haha.. and last but not least, Pats Cheesesteaks :)

If Vegas can keep a casino for 80+ years..that'll be the day.

dont they have that oldtown vegas place.... under that giant roof with lazers .. and the cowboy guy sign that looks like chuck norris trying to hitch a ride

LOL!! Yeah I think it's by Binion's. That'll be going soon too.

Well, we have an old movie studios, where most of the western movies were filmed. We also have the grand canyon?!

i live in california and i can only think of one and that is alcatraz. but we have like 15 national parks

In my town we have an old school from like the 50s still preserved that people can go visit.

In the town next to mine, they have a historical muesuem for that town.
I'm actually volunteering there this season.
It was so cool, because when I walked inside I saw like stitching's of the schools from like 1949.
