Do any of you Polynesian expoerts out there (who use discount rates) know offhand what you paid per night at the Poly in July? We are currently booked for 12 nights at Port Orleans, but have to admit, a stay at the Poly would be my dream come true.

We'll be staying during the deluxes Value Season, so I was wondering what the best possible rate (we are annual passholders) might be per night.

Thanks.

We paid an AP rate of $229 plus tax last July for a standard room at the Poly (Value Season). Rates seem to average about $10 more this year. Hope that helps with your decision making. :)

We're going this May, which is regular season, and are getting $100 off rack/night or paying a rate of $300/night incl. tax The Poly AP rate during this year's Peak season was also about $300/night incl. tax (higher rack rate, but also higher discount).

Thanks guys.

If that's the case, looks like Poly might have to wait for another time. We're doing 12 nights in July, and as of right now, we've got Port Orleans booked for just over $2,000 for the entire stay (without AP rate.) Poly without AP rate is over $4,200. Can't justify to myself paying twice as much money at this point. Oh well.

Boomhauer,

Are you opposed to doing a split stay? If AP rates come out then you could possibly save at the resort you're currently booked at AND get a garden view room at the Polynesian for about $250 per night. You could do 6 nights at one, 6 at the other - or 7 and 5, etc.

Just a thought.

I would say that resort hopping can be a 'pain,' but if you plan your switching day as a down day and plan to hang at the pool, relax, spend time at the resort, etc., you could end up with the best of both resorts.

Good luck!

Anne

Scanne - Thanks, yeah - I thought of that. I was gonna do 5 nights at All Stars and 7 at Polynesian. Done that before, and wasn't too crazy about it. My wife actually is as odd as I am and feels the same way. We like to stay at just 1 resort. For me, splitting stays makes the vacation seem shorter somehow. I like to get settled in, and know that I can unpack and not have to worry about repacking until we go home. I'm just weird like that.

Boomhauer,

Actually, we don't like to resort hop either. I was just offering a suggestion at getting what you really want for part of your trip.

Anyway, you'll have a great time no matter what! You're at WDW!!!

Anne

BTW, we'll be in WDW from 7/17 to 7/24 at WL. Looks like you're going to be there in July as well! Maybe we'll cross paths???
