Hello everyone,
Time for another nerdy worry Ive a hire car with what Ive already purchased the Virgin fully inclusive package,
i dont heed a Credit Card Do I? Because i havnt got one only a visa/debit
Has anyone picked up a virgin car after purchasing Fully Inclusive deal
Please put my mind at rest
Thanks IAN

Ian,
We have used Dollar with the Virgin fully inclusive package for the last three years running and I think they do still request an imprint for a card. As your card shows Visa I think that will suffice as it is internationally recognised even if it is a debit card. The card imprint is to cover an excess on the policy which I think it still does have if only for say $300, but I could be wrong!! Does anyone else have any better idea??

Ian - I recommend you check with Dollar. They definitely require a credit card imprint, and the last thing you want is to be refused when you are in the USA. I'm not sure that a debit card works in the same way or gives the car company the same level of assurance.

Alamo wouldn't accept my SIL as the first named driver, even though she was doing all the driving, because she doesn't have a credit card. Fortunately my BIL had his.

There's no way I'd travel abroad without the security of having a a credit card.

Ian,
Never had any money deducted myself. I think the imprint is only there incase the car doesn't return!! Other than that maybe best to check with Dollar and/or Virgin. The only other thing I can think of is they may want a cash deposit if no credit card but the figure could be quite high.

The last time we used dollar, they didn't want my credit card. We had the fully inclusive package.

Don't know if this was a one off, but I did ask if they were sure they didn't need it and was told "no".

Thanks David Tht sounds promising!! It says in the Virgin booklet I just read a CC imprint is neded yet it doesnt in the brochure so I thin that is well crap Mr.Branson (Maybe I can use his!!)
I forgot I do actually have CC Card which I NEVER! Use but its only a small limit I wonder if that will do it as they dont ctually deduct cash!??
I presume an imprint is like one of them old type manual machines?
Im too old fashioned t boter with CCs (Im 38!)
Thanks everyone Ian

Never mind, you'll soon be sitting in the glorious orlando sunshine - 84 degress today.

We're off in eleven days ... hope it lasts :sunny:

David :D

hi, we have been with virgin/dollar three times last time oct 2002, we have always prebooked ins and have never been asked for credit card or debit card imprints, we are the same as you no credit card which is one off the reasons we keep going back with virgin, as others do susie
