Hints and tips

Get there expecting the park to open about 15 minutes early. Don't bring anything that is a carryon so you don't have to use lockers.

The right side of the seuss trolly is better than the left......

If your party is willing to be split up, all of the major rides have single rider lines. DD and I love riding the same ride multiple times, and the single rider lines let us pack much more fun into the day.

If you want to get to the back of the park quickly, there is a shortcut through Seuss Landing. Turn immediately past the entrance to the Seuss area.

The water rides are super wet.

Watch for the red curbs. The fibro-cartiledge in your wrist will thank you. (My wrist is just starting to heal from our December trip...)

My only suggestions would be to try and see the shows in both parks. IOA has the Sinbad show and Poseidon's Fury. And Universal has Terminator 3D, Horror Make up show and Beetlejuice Rock n Roll music show and a Blues Brother street show. They are all very good shows.

If you only have one day there I would start at IOA and go directly back to the Harry Potter area when you first get there and ride Forbidden Journey. I would wait and hop over to Universal after lunch.

If you have 2 days there and will get to spend one day in each park then you should have plenty of time to see the shows and ride the rides.

Now this is strictly opinion, but if you get a Butterbeer I would suggest getting the frozen instead of the liquid. The liquid just tastes like a cup of Cream soda, but the frozen tastes more like Butterscotch.

Do the single rider at The Forbidden Journey if the lines are long. You usually end up on the same ride anyway. Do the castle tour and also be sure and use the regular line for the ride as well. There is so much to see in the castle.

Even if you don't ride the Dueling Dragons be sure and walk through the queue. There is a lot of cool Harry Potter stuff.

Walk through the comic section of IOA. There are so many great photo ops in that area and it usually pretty empty.

Ask to be put in the front row of the car on the Spiderman ride. The CM's are good about that.

Don't miss the horror make up show. It is the best show in Universal. (Do watch out for the crazy lady with that nasty fake arm she pokes people with while you are waiting in line! Grrr....)

Try and volunteer for a part in Disaster. I was picked to be a villain and had a blast!

If one park gets crowded or you want a change of scenery it is an easy walk between parks.

Go left when you enter and head straight back to HP. I don't ride but my dh and ds always split up and do the single rider lines. I will walk through the castle and then leave at the top where the ride loads.

I should have Added that you should go left at IOA. We tend to go right at the studio side bc everyone else tends to go left. It works for us.

If there is rain in the late afternoon or evening, go to WWOHP after the rain ends/before park closing. We did this two weeks ago and it was awesome! We were eating at Jimmy Buffet's when it rained around 6:30 - 7:00 PM. IOA emptied while we ate, and then the rain stopped. We virtually had Potter to ourselves! Both FJ and the dragons were a walk-on, and even the wand shop only had a few folks on the line. Plus, seeing it after sunset was even better than usual.
