Chalk me up as a disappointed fan. I get that many people love that he ended up with Robin, but I don't feel like they were right for each other. And if she wouldn't give up her career to focus on her marriage to Barney, how is she going to deal with (needy)Ted and his two children?
I can't stand the fact that the mother died, she was perfect for him. And I know these things happen in real life, but in a show I prefer a happy ending.(I know, I know) I feel like they really pounded it into our head just how much Barney and Robin were right for each other, and then they ripped it away like a bandaid.
My favorite part was probably the scene with Barney and his daughter. It was odd that we didn't get to meet the mother though, and sort of gross that she was just a number to him.
I almost stopped watching a few years ago, and I kind of wish I had. I feel like some of the story lines toward the end were just an attempt to keep it on a few more years. Even though they didn't fit in well with the pre-recorded ending.
