Hilton Suites Anaheim or Embassy Suites?

We're taking a long motorhome road trip......Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Grand Canyon....and thinking of ending up in Disneyland! Not sure about RV park accomodations around DL and thought we might treat ourselves to something other than the motorhome for the last leg of our adventure.

Have always stayed at DL Hotel.....but since this is a splurge...and we'll have a motorhome in the parking lot (!), thought we would stay off-site.

There's 4 of us: mom, dad, 16yr old son, 10 yr old daughter....what off-site would you suggest? Hilton Suites or Embassy Suites? Any other suggestions? We want to stay the last 4 nights of July.....the 31st is our daughter's 11th BD....so we can celebrate in the happiest place on earth!

We were there last year for one week during the 4th of July....had such a great time....we want to do it again!

Any advice on off-site accomodations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Karen

The Hilton Suites are approximately 15/20 minutes from DL. They do have their own shuttle however. Hilton Suites is very close to Edison Field so if the Angels are in town, the hotel will probably be very busy.

I believe there are 3 Embassy Suites listed as near DL. The closest is on Harbor Blvd. There is a shuttle to the parks (about 7 minutes) and I believe this Embassy Suites offers up free breakfast - a plus with children! If you request an upper floor with a park view, you can see the fireworks from your room.

I've stayed in both hotels and out of the 2, my preference is the Embassy Suites.

Enjoy your trip!

Goofydiane,

Thanks for the info....that's just what I was looking for...those "little" differences.....closer, shuttles.....choice between Hilton and Embassy...(both apply to our Hilton Honors points)....and the suggestion about park view.

Appreciate your time and info!
Time to make reservations for this "last minute" addition to our plans!

If the price is right, check out the Hilton Anaheim Convention Center. If you are a HHonors Gold or Diamond, they have an executive lounge with quick breakfast (pastries, fruit, cereal), appetizers and snacks all day.

Request a park view room, they are the closest Hilton to the park and it is a fabulous hotel - I've spent about 45 nights there this year already!

Enjoy your trip,
Diane

Hi Goofydiane,

Thanks for the info.....but we have decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel..........it's such a treat to go to DL...........we decided to spend a little extra and stay there.

Just 32 more days....and I'll be at the "happiest place on Earth!"

Appreciate your help......Hilton would have been our first off-site choice......always good to "bank up" those HHonors points!

Have you ever redeemed your HHonors points for a trip? I have enough for Hawaii.....just wondering how it works.

Thanks!
Karen

Karen,

It is very easy to redeem points, just call early when you want a hotel. I'm sure rooms are limited.

I've redeemed over 200,000 points (and still have over 500,000 left!). I've redeemed for 4 day park hoppers for my parents and then 4 2 day Universal tickets for me and some friends.

My girlfriend and her husband just stayed on points at the Hilton Hawaiin Village and had a great time. She was concerned that because it was free, she would get one of those 'last to give out' rooms. That wasn't the case, she had the 30th floor and with the doors open, could still hear the ocean very clearly every night - with a great view of the ocean, diamond head and honolulu.

You will enjoy the DL hotel, I've stayed there once and really enjoyed my stay.

Have a great trip,
Diane
