Any input on Hilton in WDW or Courtyard by Marriott would be great. Thanks!

DAHESS

We are staying at the Hilton over Easter. It will be our first trip to this hotel.

We stayed athe the Downtown Disney Courtyard and thought it was great. The room was a large standard room with a balcony overlooking the pool. It was great to wake up warly and go kout onto the balcony with my cup of tea. One of my favorite moments. I would stay there again if the price was right ( i got it with priceline and at the time we paid $18 a night!!)

I have a question to add-- Has anyone ever eaten at the Benihanas in the Hilton(i think i recall ther was one there??) We really liked eating at Japan at Epcot and thought this would be fun and cheaper- Is it??? Anyone know??

Yes i have ate there. Whenever me and my family go to WDW we always eat there on the first and the last night.:earsboy:

My daughter and I stayed there this past April. I was attending a meeting. Apart from getting walked our first night--due to over booking--the rest of the stay was fine.

The room was good-sized, and housekeeping was excellent. I suggest requesting a room overlooking the front of the property, as many of the rear facing rooms overlook I-4.

Of the two hotels you mention, I would recommend the Hilton.

I've stayed at the Hilton. Excellent hotel, rooms, service, pool, dining, gift shop. Loved this place and would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at the Hilton last November. It was a standard convention hotel. It had nice, clean rooms and a comfortable common area. I did not take the bus, but it is shared with the other DD hotels. Self parking can be far away, especially when your room is on the other side of the hotel. The pool area is OK and the double-decker hot tubs are *great*. It's a very easy walk to DD (through the pool area) for a quick dinner at Wolfgang Puck's (Yum!). My husband is Hilton Gold (as am I) and the executive lounge was closed, so we were given vouchers for the hotel restauant. I ate a full breakfast every morning for free (HHonors Gold benefit) ... the food and the staff were great! Our maid was the absolutely best maid I have ever had, BAR NONE! We tipped her well and wrote a letter of recommendation to her manager. The staff at the front desk was distant and snotty.

dahess,

We stayed at the Hilton on April 27th-May4th 2002. We were very happy with the hotel. There were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was not very large, but, adequate for us.

We did use the pool every day and we were happy with the pool area. The poolside bar had some good drinks and there was also a place to rent pool floats in all sizes, prices were not bad.

We also walked to Downtown Disney, there is some construction right there, but, we were able to get accross the road without getting hit.

We also used the hotels game room, and the kids liked it.

The hotel's Disney gift shop was nice with very friendly clerks who started me on the world of pin trading.

We bought snacks and coffee at the market since we didn't really like the coffee in the room. We also ate at Covington Mill for breakfast, it was o.k., your standard buffet.

All in all we had a nice time at a great rate from Priceline. I would stay here again and I would recommend to you. The Courtyard is further down the street, I haven't stayed there. We didn't use the transportation but the Hilton shares with the Wyndham and Grosvenor.

Have fun whatever you decide!

Leah
