Can anyone give me some info on this resort hotel? Has anyone stayed here recently?

I stayed here Saturday, November 22, 2003. I have mixed feelings after my recent stay here. The Hotel is very convenient to DTD as it is a mere walk down the pathway around the hotel and then cross the street to DTD. My room was #767 on the 7th floor and I had a perfect view of DTD, Epcot and MGM and could see all the fireworks going off. Room was in very good shape but felt a tad bit smaller than my room at Port Orleans Riverside. Room had two comfortable double beds, 25" tv, minibar (cashews were $7.00), vanity outside of bathroom and nice size bathroom with bathtub with sliding shower doors.

I was fine with the room. The problem at this hotel is a strange one. The doors are cut about 1/2" short from the bottom of the doorway. This is what creates the problem that I had. I was a single woman in this room. You could easily get on your knees or hold a mirror down under the door to see into the room (not that anyone would do this but it is a possibility). I could clearly hear all of my neighbors on both sides and the ones across the hallway (as they had two very young eager children with one who sounded sick that Saturday night and kept crying) because the doors in the hallway are all cut this short. As I walked towards the elevators to get ice, I could clearly hear every conversation from every room and in my opinion these people were talking normal (not loud) but all noise was seeping out from under those doors. When I got back in the room I took the bathmat and rolled it up to place in front of the door where this gap was but it wasn't long enough (short about 2 inches).

Otherwise I thought the hotel was in good shape and had a few dining options and nice pool area. But the door thing is wierd. I do not know if the doors on every floor are this way but the wing I was in certainly was. As I was only staying the last night in Orlando here, I decided not to complain or attempt to move. However, I would think twice about staying here again especially if it was for several days.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have stayed there and don't recall the door thing so maybe it is just one floor. ( I don't remember where I was though, but I think about the 5th floor last time.)

I like it and would stay there again without hesitation.

Considering I spent the other night at the Beach Club and could hear families YELLING in the hall until I put my earplugs on I just figure loud families are part of the Disney experience and travel with earplugs.
