Wow, did we have a great time at Hilton Head this week! My son and I checked in over the weekend. I asked at check in if we could possibly have our studio be in the lodge because the elevator would be nice when taking our bags in and out. The cast member said in a very dry tone, no, nothing is available, and actually, WE ARE UPGRADING YOU TO A TWO BEDROOM IN BUILDING 31!!! Will that be ok? Will that be ok???? It was fabulous! What a view! We could spread out. We had great weather. We love Hilton Head! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Wow! Lucky you to get such a terrific upgrade...glad to hear you had such a great time! Since we don't own at HH, this would probably be the time of year we'd go. Could you give us some more details on the kinds of things you did on your trip? My kids are little, so we couldn't really rent bikes yet, but were you able to swim yet? They'd also really be into anything nature or "bug"-related.

Any details would be great!
Thanks,
Shannon

Some of the studios are in main lodge, but there are also studios in the " out buildings". They are in the budlings that also have the 3 bedroom units.

My husband and I plan to visit Hilton Head in May- just a quick weekend visit. We're not DVC members yet but do you think they might let us look around the resort a bit?

It's a fri/sat night stay otherwise I'd look at renting but I know the point cost would be ... well... costly for that short a stay :teeth:

You can just park somewhere in shelter cove, and take the 5 min walk to get to the resort. People do it all the time.......

We pulled up to the gate and told security that we wanted to look around before considering a purchase. They let us right in.

Shannon, we rode bikes mostly because that is what my son love to do there. We did use the pool some, since we had good weather. We didn't do anything bug related, but I am checking my schedule and there was a
"beautiful butterfly"for all ages thing in the community hall
"secrets of the marsh" adults and families
"Meet the naturalist" for signs of animals, nests, feathers etc
"lady bugs" ages 3-6

These are just some of the free programs offered. There are also other programs that are arts and craft and also you must take a dolphin watch tour!
Have fun!

We have been members at the Hilton Head Disney Resort since 1996........we absolutely love going there! We're scheduled again this July 4th week. There is as much or as little as you want to do there. They have shuffleboard, arts & crafts, tours, games for little ones and older "little ones", etc. This past summer we went on the dolphin tour for the first time and had the time of our life.....we went on the sunset cruise because it was so hot during the day......we saw so many dolphins and even had them come right up to our boat....awesome! It's about a mile to the beach house...there is a bus that will take you there. Several times during our stay, we will walk there for exercise and take the bus back......beautiful walk. It's laid back and so relaxing and we always hate to head back home because we've had so much fun at Hilton Head. pixiedust: pixiedust: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
