I am hoping some of you with Hilton Head experience will calm the DW down.

We arrive this Sunday and the weather forecast sites are calling for chances of thunderstorms every day we'll be there. Is the weather at Hilton Head difficult to predict? If it does storm does it usually blow in and blow out in a short amount of time (like Orlando in Summer)?

If it does rain, any recommended activities?

The HH weather is much like Orlando in the summer months. Most days will have a "chance" of afternoon thunderstorms each day. They are usually of the 10-15 minute variety and then the sun is back out.

We've been caught in such storms many times while walking the beach and usually find the brief cool-down very refreshing.

We have been to HH many times over the last 20 years and have never experienced extended periods of rain- although I know it does happen!

If it looks like there will be an all day rain, plan on visiting a museum, drive to Savannah or visit some of the many outlet malls in the area. Of course, just staying in the room reading or enjoying the view of the marsh also works- rain or shine!

Enjoy!

When we were there last week, there was a chance for rain every day. It did rain several times on a couple of days, but not to the point the entire day was a washout. A few of our activities were rained out, but there was still plenty to do. We took the rain as an opportunity to nap, explore the island, do some shopping... things we never seem to be able to find time to do otherwise!

Have a wonderful trip! I wish I was back there already and I have only been home since Sunday!
