Hilton Head studio or 2 bedroom villa?

I am looking for advice from the Hilton Head experts. DH and I will be spending our anniversary at Hilton Head over the Thanksgiving holiday. Unfortunately, (but understandably) there are no AAA or Disney Club discounts at that time. Anyway, I have booked a 2 bedroom unit and while it is a reasonable price for off season, I am wondering will we be just as happy in a studio for $55 per night less.

I know Doc is one of the resident HH experts and I am hoping you (and anyone else that cares to comment) can help me out. I don't want to wait too long if I am going to down grade to a studio. Anyone care to comment on what you would do?

However it works out, I am looking forward to this trip and hope it will convince hubby we should buy in. Thanks guys!

You are going to have more space and be more comfortable in the 2-BR at HH or for that matter any of the other DVC resorts. I have only stayed in a 1-BR or GV with DVC. For my feeling I don't think I would really feel best with the studio. The 2-BR is going to give you more living space, kitchen space, and a kingsized bed in the master bedroom.....where as the studio is only going to have two queens and no true "living room"....my opinion, stay with the 2-BR....

If you want to have room to strech out and relax, choose the 2br. No anniversary would be complete without a jacuzzi would it? The sudio does not have that. Nor a nice way to sit around and lounge like the room you get in a 2br.

Thanks so much guys! I was leaning toward keeping what we have and after all it is our anniversary so a little splurge is in order I think.

Tommy - I love your Hilton Head website!

Enjoy the 2BR. The space, king bed and jacuzzi will be well worth the extra $55.

The studios are very nice- queen bed and sleep sofa, but the larger villas are wonderful. The cost difference is minimal for what you'll get.

Enjoy!

Thanks Doc! The 2 bedroom it is. I am really looking forward to this trip. Believe it or not I forgot that there are jacuzzi's in the 2bdr villas. Now I've really got some planning to do!

Our first stay at a DVC resort was in a studio and we thought it was great. We next stayed in a 1 bedroom and decided we could never go back to a studio. I guess we just got spoiled.

Have you checked to see about a 1 bedroom? I'm not sure why you would need the second bedroom. We have stayed in a studio and 2 bedroom and much prefer the 2 bedroom. Unlike WDW resorts, you spend more time in your room and that extra pace and kitchen are great.

Thanks so much for the additional comments guys! realpatt - since it is the Thanksgiving holiday the resort is "sold out" of the 1 bedroom units. That is the one I had originally reserved for the week after Thanksgiving (and at a nice DC discount too) but I realized I had booked the wrong week and when I went to change to the week I actually wanted, the 1 bedroom units were all booked so its either the studio or 2 bedroom. The 2 bedroom certainly sounds nicer to me. :)
