Hi Everyone!

My DF and I are heading up to Hilton Head this weekend (3 nights at HHI DVC). DF has never been there and I have but not since 1996.

The only restaurants I remember are Salty Dog Cafe, Hudsons, and Crazy Crab.

Any reviews on those or suggestions on other good places that are moderately priced? DF doesn't care for seafood but I love it so if they have non seafood options that's good too!

Thanks!!!

Our favorite is Wise Guys. We went there for date night and fell in love. They have a huge cocktail menu.

Skullcreek Boathouse was second. We love seafood but there are MANY other things on their menus.

We had a wonderful dinner at Michael Anthony's. Fantastic food, a lot of locals dim lights and very relaxing. We love the other restaurants mentioned but if you are looking for a more intimate dinner this is the place to go.

British Open Pub, It's Greek to Me (obviously Greek food), Main Street Pub, are good and have non-seafood options. I'll post again if I think of more.

Hugo's was excellent (although a bit expensive for dinner). The flambed dessert made at the table was absolutely amazing. They do have a menu with less expensive prices before 6pm and offer a lunch menu as well.

If you are craving ribs you cannot get better than One Hot Mommas. Not far from the resort at all.

Walk under the highway, go to your right and the little cluster of restaurants there in front of the watertower is Pazzo. A really great Italian restaurant. We eat there whenever we can.

You can drive also, but, you have to take a right on 278, go to the next crossover, and do a U turn. Restaurant is on the right before you get back to the light.

Signe's is also a quirky place for breakfast. Go down to Arrow road, take a right and it's about 1/4 mile down on the right.

The grill there on property has great burgers and onion rings.

My family had a timeshare in Hilton Head starting in 1990, and my parents now live down there after having retired. I go down 2-3 times a year to visit.

My opinion on restaurants:
- Crazy Crab has gone down in quality and serving size, and up in price. Tourist trap!
- Hudson's is still wonderful! Love the location, too - gorgeous to walk along those docks at sunset especially.
- Chart House - next to Hudson's, definitely more dressy and pricier. I don't think it lives up to the hype. Skip it.
- Skull Creek Boathouse - This is one of our family favorites. It's on the other side of Chart House. It can be lively, a bit noisy, but very fun and great food. Also very reasonable prices. Sit outside on a nice afternoon, they have great seating in the back with views of the docks and water!
- Black Marlin - hit and miss, but mostly hit. Fish tacos are good. Not pricey.
- Gillan's Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar - This is our latest find. We went for my dad's birthday in September and got all you can eat crab legs. So good! My mother enjoyed her dinner as well. Highly recommended, and the price is right!!!

Most places have non-seafood options as well.

Have a wonderful time! I'll be there for Christmas! :)

I totally agree with Skull Creek Boathouse. We LOVE it!!!

We also discovered the Sea Shack on our last trip. Amazing and well-priced seafood! We got it to go and went back to the resort to eat.

Thanks everyone!! I can't wait to get there and check out all of our options even in the short 3 days we'll be there. I"m getting over a stomach flu so I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll be 100% for the drive from Orlando and so I can indulge in all that is seafood!!!

Skull Creek Boathouse is still good. Black Marlin is great (Sushi Nachos, Oysters Rockafeller), maybe try their weekend brunch.

If you are looking for a great meal, you can't do better than the Sage Room. It is tucked away in a little strip mall near Coligny Circle, but it ranks in the top 10 of any place I have ever eaten. The have a "chef's table" bar that has 8 seats if you want to watch them in action.

Other family faves are San Miquel's in Shelter Cove, A backyard Bbq, and Redfish, even Steamers in Coligny Circle is good.

Salty Dog and Crazy Crab are both overrated.

Poseidon at Shelter Cove Towne Center. It's part of the Serg Group.

Great food and atmosphere. The rooftop bar is great.

Easy walk from resort.

We loved Bullies BBQ and Dye's Gullah Fixins' when we were there in June 2014. Heading back in March for spring break and looking forward to going to them again and trying a few new places.
