But you can walk over and go around the back to the food window on the upper deck by the pool and the gift shop. That's at the main pool not the beach house. Can also use rest room and food counter on side of beach house. Can park at beach house too as Shelter Cove has section. Also down the way from Disney Beach house is Shelter Cove/Palmetto Dunes little Beach bar/food place. Parking there is tough so we park at Disney Beach house parking and sit on the beach that way...maybe more between the 2 (though there is a hotel between that is busy and loud). We are checking into Shelter Cove condo on Saturday. Was supposed to be at DIsney resort but they didn't open in time so we rented from Harbourside III quarter share place. Have stayed there before and are thinking of buying a quarter share. Just need to sell our HHI DVC points.We are staying at a hotel in the Shelter Cove area and would love to spend a day at the Disney Hilton Head Island pool. Does anyone know if they sell day passes or allow DVC members on property to use the amenities?
Not Hilton head, but we did do a day pass at vero. We were resort guest at Bwv and drove to vero to check out the resort. We called member services to get guidance and told what to do. We got to vero and checked in at the desk. We were met by the resort manager and she took our room keys (before magicbands). She verified we were staying at Bwv. She gave us white keycards and maps of the resort and area. We were happy how it was done and felt welcome. Our keycard was used to unlock the gates for the beach and pool and to get towels from the window. this would never work with Hilton head because the drive is too long .
At one time we owned back-to-back quarters at Harbourside III so we had 4 solid weeks every other month each year. Ours were located directly above San Miguel's - across from the DVC Resort....We are checking into Shelter Cove condo on Saturday. We eventually sold those and purchased a condo at Yacht Club also right on the Harbor where the Captain Hook is docked... and then a few years later bought a home on the island. Quite the progression - timeshare - to Quartershare - to two Quartershares - to condo - to house. We enjoyed each one and considered the next move a step up. The condo actually cost less in fees than the two Quartershares combined, and the same thing was true with the annual fees for our home now. It's all good!

Thanks for all the info. We are here now. Had dinner at San Mig's last night. Nice easy walk there. Lol. I really like the unit we are in this time. It is laid out a little different than our last one. And it looks like they have new floors and shower since last time we were here (last summer).In the past, Harbourside III owners did frequently trade to extend trips or to have additional units for large family groups. There was (and likely still is) an active HB3 owners email group for such trades. I don't think it is anymore, but when we owned at HB3 it was associated with RCI so we were able to accumulate a lot of RCI points by trading into the RCI system (even able to get weeks at Disney). We listed the HB3 units for sale in 2010, which was a great time to buy a condo - but not great time to try to sell 2 quartershares so we just banked the weeks we weren't using into RCI.
Yacht Club does allow pets. We did not rent it because we had become so accustomed to staying for a month at a time we just continued that habit and could leave everything in place between trips. We had originally planned to live there in retirement but changed that plan after awhile, sold and purchased the house a few miles away. A good number of Yacht Club owners do rent their units and they were very active with renters especially in the summer and Spring Break.
Our progression may be simpler--DVC (not HHI) and straight to a house. When I think of a day pass for a resort, HH would have never came to my mind, but that could be a neat idea for them on days that they are not at full capacity.
Right. We have only gone to HH during the off season. We enjoy the cooler and more comfortable temps.Which pretty much rules out the entire summer![]()
