My family currently owns points at BCV. We have heard that it is very difficult to make a reservation at HH 7 months out (primarily summer months), therefore we are thinking of buying a resale at HH.
My question is this: If we purchase 50 resale points at HH can we use the 50 points and borrow some points from our BCV contract and still book the trip 11 months out?

No, I do not think you can book points beyond what you own at the location 11 months out.

You can only use HH points to reserve at 11 months. You can borrow from your next HH use year.

We own at BCV and I just did an add-on at HH. I picked the point amount (80) that would let us spend 6 nights every other year by combining 2 years of points. I bought direct from Disney, they offer $10 point buy-back at HH.

Debbie & mgoble are right, allicat. You will only be able to make the reservation at HH 11 months out with the points you own there. You can certainly bank and borrow to have 150 when you need to....just be sure to tell Member Services not to use your HH points for any reservations in Orlando if you are trying to save them for a HH trip the next year.

Kind regards,

This cannot be stressed enough. If you have banked points on any contract, the tendency for member services will be to use those banked points first for fulfilling a reservation request if you are within the 7 month booking window.

We went thru this recently with an OKW ressie - we had 70 points banked on our VB contract, and when I told MS to only use the OKW contract for points and not to touch the VB contract, the query was "Are you sure?"

It's not a problem for MS to do this, you just need to be explicit about where the points come from. If you are outside of the 7 month window, then it's not an issue.
