Hilton Head...late spring?

Well, I think we will finally try our home resort next year (members since 2001). I have a question about Hilton Head....should we go Memorial Day week, or choose a different week? If we don't do Memorial Day week, we'll probably go either 1-2 weeks earlier. I'd appreciate any advice about that time of year, and especially whether the holiday itself is a good time to be there (it's just me and DH, no kids).

memorial day starts HH on season.

It will be crowded from memorial day to labor day. So just expect that.

the ocean water can be a little cool for my taste _ I like Sept better!!!

We went this year the first week in June. The weather was beautiful and the water at the beach was warm. This was our first time there and we will definetly go back. It wasn't crowed when we were there.

Week before MD weekend is great. The water's a little cool but swimmable. Everything's up and running but it's not crowded until Thursday and Friday.

Thanks for all the good advice. It sounds like the week before Memorial Day would be better...we don't care about swimming in the ocean, just want warm weather (after a chilly MN winter) and we wouldn't mind if it's on the quiet side.

It is tempting, though, to roll that holiday off work into the trip...what to do, what to do....
