We’re just about to leave after a too brief stay at HH and I thought I’d post about our stay.
We drove down to WDW briefly, then drove back up... Spent our first day on a hop on hop off tour bus of Savannah (an hour from HH). Perfect choice when it’s raining and you’re not familiar with Savannah. Lunch at the Pirates’ House, then checked in at HH.
Great welcome, got to the room, dropped our things, stuffed swimsuits in our pockets and headed for the hot tub.
It was so cold outside that everyone was in the hot tub... which is large enough to accommodate... Then trivia night, then bed.
Day two, Mickey Mouse waffles in the community center while crafting pillows. The pool was closed due to low temps, so we made pillows and beaded bracelets, played rock em sock em robots, pet the dog, met Pluto, walked out to the fishing pier, brief game of putt putt, shuffleboard, then drive to the beach house for a delicious mahi mahi sandwich and a brief walk on the beach followed by sitting next to the fire inside until one of us drove back while others rode the shuttle bus driven by a lovely CM who gave us stickers.
We walked to Scott’s Fish Market for dinner, had filet mignon cooked perfectly, she crab soup and bacon wrapped scallops served with a 10% DVC Discount that adds a nice flavor. Order the corona with tequila because it’s vacation.
Walked back, pool still closed but another trivia night was afoot! And we won, because everyone wins! Shopped a bit at the Mercantile and then to bed.
Last Day
More Mickey Waffles is the plan... followed by making a jar of homemade salt scrub in the community center, then mini golf at the Pirate place down the road then a full day of driving.
Things we’d do next time include renting bikes, fishing, crab trapping, and a dolphin viewing tour boat ride.
Oh - somewhere in here we did a dolphin talk/game with the dog. All the CMs were great and we loved it.
