Just looking for input on HH in November. We are probably going to skip WDW next year and think HH would be a nice change. October looks like it has what we would consider optimum weather, November is a little cooler, and less points for a 1-bd.

I'm concerned that since it's off-season, there may not be much available for ds (will be 10) to do. I'd love opinions on going in November. TIA!

EDIT: Forgot to ask how busy HH is in Nov -- i.e., will I have trouble getting a 7-mo ressie for a 1-bd? Thanks! :)

Depending on when in November you want to go, most all activites are still available.

The ocean may be a little cool for swimming, but the resort pools are haeted and very comfy. Air temps are usualy quite pleasant at that time.

Resort prgrams will still be available and most local activities (Dolphin Tours, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, golf, tennis, shopping, etc.) will still be readily available most of the year.

As for availability, Thanksgiving is a very popular time and the resort does fill quickly for that time period. Early Nov would likely be the best chance for a 1BR (there are only 21 1BR and 21 Studios total), but the waitlist does work and you'll never really know what's available until until you call.

Enjoy!

I went during first week of November last year. The Beach house was pretty empty, as it was too cool and windy to hit the beach. The sun was out and warmed up the place one of the days I was there and so they opened up the slide at the pool. However lots of people used the pool when the slide was closed too. Most other activities were available, including biking, for example. It's a fine time to go, I think.

The weather can be a little unpredictable at that time of year, but we went over Xmas and New Year this year. The temps were between daily max of high 70s to low 60s. But they did get snow the day after we left. November is likely to be "safer" than Dec, but it's still a little bit down to luck.

There were lots of activities going on and planty to do.

Hmmm.... I appreciate the replies. I'm thinking maybe we should just spend the extra points and go in October.... We'll have to give it some thought. Thanks!

Marriott's are available for November, mostly for the entire month. Prices though II are from $509 to $639 for 2 BR units depending on resort for almost all of November. One might wait until 2 months out and try to snag one with a studio at HH adventure (55 points) or if you have a friend that is an II member, get them to rent it for you. I'd also check DVC cash prices.

We have a 1 bedroom booked over Thanksgiving and are really looking forward to it. We were told that you can order deep fried turkeys for dinner through the resort (like to try different things, hope we like it!).

We went in February of this year, and even though the weather was not great, we still had a ball. The pool and the hot tub felt good in the cooler air. Hope to see you there!

I really liked HH in the off season. We stayed 6 nights in January for 98 points in a 2 BR. I asked a CM, and she said there was about 25 people at the whole resort our week. We really got the personalized service, and the CMs were always ready for a chat. They opened the pool slide for us at our request. Beach house was empty, but I would have dipped there if we would have brought our suits. We rented bikes and rode over there. If you have kids, I would suggest a 2 BR unit as there will be more room to strech out and play, and they surround the pool (1 BRs are a small walk to the pool). Weather is a gamble, but for us, it would be warmer than Chicago. There were activities, several each day. We really relaxed, took advantage of the pools and hot tub. We also had time to enjoy the unit. We brought games, toys and videos to play with the kids, we slept in late, did some reading, and generally putzed around. I felt refreshed when we returned home. We added on again at HH and are spending Thanksgiving there in a GV. Can't wait. :bounce: :bounce:
