Has anyone been at this time. Is it warm at all? Also, are the restaurants across the harbor open? Thanks

The two times we've been to HH were both in March - once during the 3rd week, the other during the 4th.

One week started out pretty chilly - actually burned a fire in the fireplace (in a GV) - but ended up driving away in shorts, the other was warm "shorts weather" the whole time.

Actually - we saw a lot of "spring break" crowd, while we were there - so we didn't see any restaurants that were closed.

If you go in March you may not have a crowd, because Easter is not until April 20 of 2003.

I agree with the previous post. We have been there during late March and early pril. Crowds have been larger around the Easter holiday. We were told that the schools in that area have Spring Break during Easter week.

I live in Savannah and that's St Patty's day time period. I wore shorts last year to the parade and I've worn jeans and a long sleeve shirt with maybe a sweatshirt in the morning other years. It can also be a little windy at times. Too cool for the ocean though yet. It's rarely real cold though by mid March. If you come to the parade, there's drinks that are guaranteed to warm you up though.

I, too, have been thinking about a March trip to HH--the last week in March. I was wondering about the rain--how is it in March? It's rather gray and gloomy here in the Midwest during that part of year! Believe it or not, I have ressies for Christmas week and I most likely will be cancelling them. The closer I get to it, the more of a "home-body" I become about the holidays! I keep telling DH and DD's that the holidays are the one time of year I am extremely happy just staying home--why spend the points and vacation days then?? Let's maybe try early spring--hence, the possibly March HH trip. (I got off track, didn't I? Sorry!) :o

Hoosier girl - We were supposed to go for Christmas to OKW; I actually had booked a Grand Villa, but I cancelled it last week. I just couldn't get everyone on line, and I couldn't take a chance on losing that many points. I am going for MLK weekend instead and staying at BCV! Less points and less crowds. HH in March will be my Spring Break (I teach), and I can't wait! Hope the restaurants right across the bridge are open at that time.

The last week in March at HH is usually a great time. We have been the last 2 years and have had a great time. The weather was exceptionally nice this year and warm & sunny last year. All of the resturants are open for the season and most of the resorts activies are in full swing. Signals (small rest.) and the snack/drink bar just opened for the season at the Beach House.

The ocean will be to cold to swim in although there are a lot of other beach activites to enjoy like bicycling, horesback riding, sandcastles, shelling, tanning, ect..

I would recommend this time of year.

Last time we were there in March, the No-See-Ums were out in force, so plan to have something to keep them off you.

Candace--I'm sorry your Christmas trip didn't work out; if we cancel, it will be mostly my choice. As long as I have another trip planned, everyone will be happy! My b-day is also the last week of March, so maybe we'll go to HH then--now that all these great people have me convinced it would be a fine time to go! Thanks everybody!:)
