Hilton Head in March - how is it?

Anyone stay in March? My daughter has spring break Mar 23ish and thinking of giving DVC Hilton Head a try. I got 3 young kids and they love the pool and then the pool and yeah some more pool time. I'm thinking it won't be warm enough yet in March? I have read many posts but still not sure if HH will provide enough for 3 very high energy kids enough to do (6, 3, 2 year olds) besides the pool?

We have gone the past six years in either April (4 times) or March (twice). All the years we have had great weather -- next to nothing in rain, and in March temps in the upper 70's (probably low 80's a few days). But I think we have been extremely lucky. One March when we checked in we were told the weather was so bad the week before a number of people checked out early. I bet Simba's Mom can give you more info about March weather. Seems like we were always reading her posts before we were leaving for our trip. There is PLENTY of activities to keep the kids busy. This year we did not have a spring break, so we are going in a few weeks. Cannot wait to experience HH for the first time in the summer!

I'm not sure about HHI weather in March, but I am also entertaining the idea of going that week (DD's spring break).

Most likely, the pool will be heated I would guess. We were at SSR in December and DD4 wanted to swim all.the.time. I guess the cool/cold weather doesn't deter them!

We went in March of 2004. It was the kid's Spring Break and such low points in March.

The kids swam alot in the pool. We went to the ocean, but it was too cold to get in...

We did have a great time though...and now that we've bought DVC again, we do plan of going back in the future.

I was in HHI a few years ago at the end of March. Wore shorts and a sweatshirt, plenty of kids in the pool. Of course I heard from the locals"you should have been here last week, it was in the 80's"

Next trip was early April, weather was perfect, in the 80's.

My parents go to HH Feb/March every year. March can be spotty on weather. The only thing is that if the weather is not good, there is not much else to do on the island for entertainment w/ small children. Good luck!

Sounds like HH is pretty spotty in March........thanks for the input everyone, I think we may pass for spring break. Will try to get a summer reservation.

Nobody is sure about HHI weather in March!

We went for Spring Break and had great weather - mid-80's and sunshine galore. The pool was perfect, although the ocean was too chilly with the wind and cold water.

The day we checked out, there was a hard freeze and highs hovered in the 30's and 40's the following week.

If I had to place a bet, I'd say you have about a 60/40 chance of getting t-shirt weather (mid-70's or above) in mid-late March and a 70/30 chance in early April.
