We've been members for several years and thought it was about time we visited our initial "home" resort. So, we're headed up to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving.

We'd appreciate any tips, recommendations or advice regarding the resort, the Island, and things we shouldn't miss (or things we should try to miss :teeth: ).

Thanks!!
Ginny

Don't quite know what to miss there, but we will be there thanksgiving weekend too. My mother is going with us so we will probably be touring Charleston/Savannah as well as checking out HHI. Maybe we'll see you there.

We love Charleston and Savannah.... hope ya'll enjoy those cities.

In Savannah, there is a really good restaurant out on Thunderbolt (area of Savannah) called Pearl's Saltwater Grill (used to be Pearl's Elegant Pelican). We ate there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

We enjoyed Hudsons, it's down a road on the left just after you cross the bridge on to the island. Good food, not real fancy, lot's of character. We enjoy picking up some shrimp and boiling it in our room and fixing a salad and maybe a baked potato and eating on the porch if the weather cooperates. Shopping at Shelter Cove is nice. Riding bikes all over the area, you can rent them right there at the resort and there are wonderful bike paths everywhere. Go down to Harbortown and see the lighthouse and have lunch and walk around and shop. If the weather is warm enough take a dolphin cruise with Captain Scott. There are whole threads on the DIS about HH. Try the search. Have a great trip!

Thank you!!!

I'll try searching for some of the other threads. :)
