hi folks.... time for a happy dance... i cant believe it !!! :Pinkbounc i booked a hilton head grand villa this august for 5 nights.... have never done this before!! hilton head is our absolute fave resort of all but ive only stayed in 2 bedrooms there and wondered if anyone had any links to grand villa photos? also... did they recently change building 27 there (the one right by broad creek mercantile and the pool and the pier , shuffleboard , etc.) to a NON smoking building? one of the grand villas is in there according to information i read but i THOUGHT... it was a smoking OPTIONAL building in the past. i think it is in one of the most ideal and picturesque spots at the resort but i dont want to request that one (i know its just a request) if its a smoking building. the cast member at member services thought NONE of the grand villa buildings allowed smoking... i am afraid she might be wrong though. HELP.... and thanks in advance....!im SO PSYCHED :) ! :cool1:

I just bought HH as my home sight. I should close any day now. I bought this sight because it had extra points and I thought it would me hard to book for the summers 7 months in advance. I figured there are so many different sights to choose from at WDW the 7 months in advance should be find to get one of them.

How is HH? Did I make a mistake buying HH instand of Okw. It looked like to me that HH and Okw are the best resale deals on the market. Considering the price per point and the lower maintance fees.

Any comments/ Thank you in advance.

Here is a link to Doc's HH page. This resort is awesome!! It's my dream to stay in a Grand Villa- we had one booked with my sister but then we fought over who was going to get the Master Bedroom :earseek: so we split up into and 2 Br. and a 1 Br. Oh well. Next time!!

Congratulations Jody. I too have dreamed of the day when we can do a grand villa at Hilton Head. I think thanksgiving at HHI in a grand villa would be so totally awesome - that is my dream.

HH now has only one "smoking optional" building- #27 (next to the shuffleboard courts, near the main pool - marsh view). There is no GV in that building. Building 28 used to be smoking optional, but has been changed to non-smoking. Currently all five GV's are non-smoking.

Here is a <a href="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=226883">building summary for HH.</a>

Enjoy the GV! :)

Exactly why we bought too. All we're waiting for is the funds to be disbursed and the contract sent for recording.

How hard is to book a GV in mid-late May? Our family is planning a trip to HH in May'06 (5/21-5/26) and it would blow everyone away if we can secure a GV. I own at VWL so I won't be able to make my ressie until Nov'05 at the earliest.
Thanks

first of all... thanks guys for the congratulations and the information... it made my day to have such support and quick replies/clarifications :flower:
but secondly... as i look at the resort map i wondered if there was any of you who had been in buildings 28 or 30 (where i now know the gv's are located) ? we love being in the action and usually prefer buildings 22,24 or 29 (2 bedroom)to be "in the heart of it all" away from parking / for the charm factor, etc. ive stayed in building number 18 before in a 2 bedroom and did not prefer it so im wondering about the other grand villa buildings, view etc. what are your own personal faves for you grand villa veterans? (we will be happy with anything , just wondering?) thanks AGAIN! :boat: (me out on a dolphin cruise looking for blackbeard and nick the resident dvc hhi dolphin regulars lol)

I believe we were in Bldg 28 - got a GV over New Year's last year. It wasn't a terrific location - I had requested 18 because I like the marsh view - but 28 looks out onto the interior walkways of the resort. The porch is fairly secluded with the trees - it was better than I thought it would be and the location was very convenient to the pool. I just love the marsh view....The GV was really great - fireplace, big kitchen and dining area - the 2nd floor...Would love to get one in the summer. They are a great deal in the off season though - with a cash discount we paid about $220 a night in Dec/Jan.

We're in a GV right now in building 19. The balcony has an interior island/wooded view and the front area is across from the marina. Only building 18 has a marsh view GV, all others have interior/woods view. Ours is very convenient to all areas of the resort as it is very centrally located.

Our room is in great shape and has been well maintained.

Enjoy!
