We are a small family - mom, dad, and our eleven year old. For various reasons (including both my parents no longer being with us) we've spent the last two Christmases at WDW. Generally we arrive on about the 14th and stay until about the 28th. This year, we're going to WDW as always on the 14th but leaving on the 23rd to head to Hilton Head for about five nights. I think it's a good decision given that WDW gets so super crowded right at Christmas and we'll still be there for nine days - 2 days at AKL and 7 at OKW. We also have never travelled up the East coast at all and thought it would be neat to see Hilton Head.
I guess my question is what to expect. We live in a beach area whose tourist season is in the summer but most of our restaurants remain open for locals and the few visitors we get in the winter. I understand that much of HHI does close but are some restaurants still open? Does the resort still have some activities going on?
Thanks for any information
