We received a letter today saying that there will be limited beach access during our planned trip to Hilton Head in September due to the beach re-nourishment project. I had actually looked at the schedule for the re-nourishment project before we booked, but it looks like things got pushed back and now it may interfere with our trip.
We're normally pretty laid back about hiccups in our plans, but we have really been looking forward to a laid back beach vacation after a long and hectic year and some recent health issues may make it uncomfortable for me to walk further to get to a peaceful spot on the beach. I may be fine by then, but my doctors aren't entirely sure how long it's going to take for me to be back to normal.
With that in mind, does anyone know more about how the re-nourishment project is going and how much of an impact it's going to have on things the week of Sept. 17th? We may look at switching to Vero Beach if beach access is going to be severely limited during our travel dates, but we are looking forward to visiting Hilton Head so we're a bit wishy washy on what we want to do at this point, lol.
I know this may be like trying to use a magic 8 ball to figure out what's going to happen, but I'm posting on the off chance that someone here might have some solid information that would help us make a best guess about how limited beach usage is going to be so we can make an educated guess about whether we should keep the reservation or try Vero Beach instead.
Thanks!

I can't help you, but I got the same letter for our October Hilton Head stay.

I thought this was to be done this spring? Perhaps moved. Darn, we are going early Nov.
