Hilton Head and Savannah GA. Where to eat and what to do?

I was surprised yesterday by my DH and 2 DD, we leave tomorrow night. Could someone tell me good casual restaurants and how about the best beach? What else is there to do?

I was in Hilton Head many years ago. I only remember that it was very

We are headed to Tybee Island in June...Just outside of Savannah..
Heard it was nice, can't help though since it will be our first trip..

Savannah.... what a beautiful city. There is a lot to do there. Check out all the "squares", Forsythe Park, take a carriage architectural tour. Check out the "party" on River Street. Dining... The Lady & Sons is a must. It is Paula Deen's restaurant. You can tour many of the grand homes, like the Juliette Gordon Low home, she founded the Girl Scouts. It's so relaxing there. I love going once every few years. Take a day at the Beach on Tybee Island!

Read the book, In the Garden of Good & Evil before you leave or on the drive down and then take the tour.

Check out the Crab Shack on Tybee Island ... it's by no means fine dining but the atmosphere and seafood is AWESOME!!!

Agree. My mom went to Savannah a few months ago and went here for lunch. She said it was fabulous--but hard to get into. She went to the restaurant one evening and couldn't get in for dinner, so she made a reservation for lunch the next day.

We stayed at Disney's Hilton Head resort a few years ago, and one of the best restaurants we ate at was called Crane's Tavern. The original Crane's was not too far from Philly, but the owners packed up and moved south for the beauty & warmth of Hilton Head.

Cranes is a colonial-style tavern restaurant that specializes in steaks and chicken, and has the best French Onion soup I've ever had.

On Hilton Head, we like Cafe Europa (at Sea Pines), the Jazz Company, Hudson's at the Docks for seafood, Old Fort Pub, and Captain's Seafood.
