DH & I were talking last night & he said that he would prefer to buy @ Hilton Head (if we bought)- we love the beach and as our kids get older could spend longer trips there & shorter trips @ WDW. As far as booking @ WDW, he's not that picky & doesn't think the 6-7 month(can't remember) window would not be a big factor, we'd take what's available. Anyway, The Timeshare Store has 150 points @ HH for $65 pt. do you think Disney would ROFR or is that mainly just the WDW resorts, do they let these timeshares slide more @ less than $70. We were looking into buying a camper, but he would much rather spend $ on this, that camper won't be worth much in about 10 years, but we'd still have about 38 (?) or so years on this. What are some thoughts. Have any of you stayed @ HH, I know it's not on the beach, but do you like it? DH says he remembers going when he was little & having lots of fun, but says he doesn't even remember going to the beach.

Just closed a contract two months ago which pass ROFR at $65 for HHI.

Depending on the points available, you might be able to go lower as we justed passed ROFR on an OKW resale @ $65/pt. Past history indicates HHI & VB tend to be a few dollars less per point than the onsite resorts. Hope you find just what you're looking for!!!

HH is our home resort; in the four years we've owned, we've been there every year as well as at VB, OKW, BWV, and BCV. HHI is a beautiful resort, very relaxing; the area is inviting, a great place for grown-ups and kids. The beach is beautiful and the beach house is fun, too.

It hasn't been a problem for us that the resort is not on the beach. (Of course, that would have been nice:) ) Some days we do the pool, some days the beach.

I think $65.00 will go through. Unless you really HAVE to have this particular contract, I would go lower, or make the seller pay the closing costs and see what happens. We have not heard much lately here of Disney using their ROFR at HHI.

We love HH! We don't own there, but have gone twice in the past 15 months and hope to go again in October. We have three kids and they love it too! In fact my DS (3) calls Hilton Head his "home". His preschool teacher is having a heck of a time with him learning his address, because he INSISTS it's HH! For us, not being right on the beach is no big deal because there is so much to do in addition to going to the beach - we don't feel like we have to go each day. I would love to do an add-on at HH, but will have to wait a little longer.

We absolutely love HHI!::yes:: To be honest, our family hasn't even begun to see what's available to see there, since we went "commando" the first time (May, 2002). We plan on going there roughly every 3 years (HHI, DVB, then WDW DVC site). As we become more familiar with the island (and the DS's get a bit older), we will enjoy more of the "charm" of HH.

If we could afford to own at VWL and HHI, we would in a heart-beat! For now, VWL will have to do.

Good luck!

Dave
