HI!
We are a family of 5 (kids are 14, 17, 18). We have been to WDW many times, and in January (19-26) we are going to IOA/US, Discovery Cove & Seaworld. I am looking for a 2-3 bedroom resort type accomodation. I'm very interested in the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites Seaworld. My husband wants a king size comfortable bed and two bathrooms (those are his only requests for the vacation :-). We are going during a slower time of year for Orlando. There is also the possiblity that my inlaws may come.

Any ideas on how to get a good deal here - it seems very pricey?

Any other resort suggestions?

Looking forward to all your suggestions!

We looked into this property for our upcoming Christmas vacation. The best rate we could find was with our CAA/AAA membership. It gives you a spot on the website where you can check a box and it will show you the discounted AAA rate as opposed to the regular rate. It was about the same as the advance purchase cost but without the "pay in full at booking/no changes or cancellation" restrictions attached to it.

You might also check Vista Cay Resort. It also has easy access to Universal Blvd (Dr.?) which makes travel much quicker. You can rent through different places (including VRBO). I got a great quote for Thanksgiving week a couple of years ago but had to change my plans. Good luck!

We have stayed there twice and loved it. They are running a special right now through the end of the year and I bet the price will come down. We are keeping our eye out for February. We have gotten a one bedroom suite and for Christmas last year the price kept dropping.

You may want to check out The Point Orlando Resort; they have 2 bedroom / 2 bath family suites available, are very reasonable and have gotten great reviews. I am staying there in November.

You'll love the timeshares. They are fantastic. You'll love the room and all the money you will save. We started with them in 2001 and have stayed in one every year since. My one strong recommendation, stay in a name brand timeshare (Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton). The one time we didn't (Orange Lake) we noticed a big difference in quality.

We did stay at the HGVC sea world for a week and it was great. Great pools, a movie theater, and a crouquet court. Bermuda theme. The rooms were very nice and huge.

You can find deals on eBay and your local Craigslist as well as owners sometimes can't go and look to rent their weeks.

I also really liked the HGVC Seaworld when we stayed there, although it was several years ago. Our unit was clean, cheerful, and spacious. Like someone else said, having AAA made a significant difference in the rate at that time.

All of the HGVC properties are fantastic. We are HGVC timeshare owners so may be a little biased, but we've stayed on property in both regular rooms and DVC rooms and HGVC compares very favorably to WDW properties. HGVC at Seaworld might be our favorite. We had a very memorable week long stay there back in 2008. They have activities planned each day that everyone can participate in. They have a recreational staff that plans and runs all of the events and they are great. All of the properties are fairly large but all of the rooms are relatively close to a pool. I believe HGVC SW has a main pool and two other quiet pools.

I would suggest Westgate Lakes. We have stayed there several times with our "cheer family" and there is quite a bit of space to spread out. It is near Sea World. http://www.wglakes.com/index.htm There are floor plans available so you can see the layout. I have never stayed at Floridays but my friend has an recommends it.

My FIL owns a unit. We used it for the first time last year. LOVED it. I'm hoping we can use it again next year. Waiting to hear if anyone else has dibs on it yet.
