Anyone stay at either of these? Are there specific buildings/locations that should be requested? We are considering a long weekend here and deciding between these two.

We have stayed at HGVC International Drive twice, it is a gorgeous resort. The main pool is one of the biggest around; they have interactive fountains and zero depth entrance for kids. There are several hot tubs and poolside massages available. I think they have one more unit to build and then they are finished. We were there when construction was going on and it did not bother us in the least. The deli is good, poolside bar is nice too. There is a quiet room for reading, an exercise room, an activity room with pool table, t.v. etc., an arcade room, and also a day care area. They have a great selection of things going on - we enjoyed the poolside movie and a visit by an animal expert who brought all kinds of animals for the kids to see. They have poolside ice cream sundae events that are fun, and all sorts of craft activities for kids and outings for teens. If you go to the HGVC website and select resorts, choose the I-Drive location and lscroll down on the right side, you can click on the activity guide and see everything they had to offer. We loved the Tuscan feel of everything. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of space, beautiful bathrooms, nice screened in porches, very well-appointed kitchens. Take extra coffee and filters, we went through everything they gave us right away! Upscale outlet mall is right next door, Publix, Walgreens, anything you need is right across the street. The last time we were there I had a problem with the dryer - I had stopped by the front desk on my morning walk to report it, no big deal. By the time I walked back to my unit, two repairmen were at my door waiting for me. They fixed it and both their supervisor and the front desk followed up to make sure it was taken care of to our satisfaction. Hilton does things right, you really can't go wrong. You can PM me if you have any specific questions about the property.

both are nice.

do you have kids? how old are they?

the younger kids seems to really love Horizons.

but older childrens would like HGVC probably better - they can walk to more places.

In regards to buildings or location at HGVC - I Drive; the buildings closest to the main pool are what you would want if you are interested in any of the pool activities for kids. The buildings clustered around the smaller pool would be fine if your kids are older and can walk around on their own. There is a Pizza Hut, small bar, exercise room and hot tub at the smaller pool as well, and everything is situated around a big lake. The least desirable buildings (in my opinon) would be the ones on the opposite side of the lake - quite a hike to the main building.

Thanks, our kids are 10, 13 and 15, so maybe HGID is best. Appreciate the info.

I will be staying at the HGVC on I drive in october.. we got the two room since the inlaws are coming with us I wanted a place where we all could stay and not pay a bundle.. I will post a remark about it when I get back

13 and 15 - okay.

there is a large outlet mall just behind HGVC-ID

they can probably walk there.

there is small mall across the street (and a big parking lot) with a Publix and some other stores. if they want to walk over here - tell them to be careful - that road is either very busy a long time of cars or no cars....

there is also a Macdonald's across the street &
