Hilton Gatwick with parking

I just booked room and 15 nights parking for this December at Hilton. They said they have a car park outside main entrance to hotel for you to pull up in and collect a voucher for the long stay carpark a 5 min drive away (they give you directions apparantly). The car park outside their building is a drop off point and I think a short stay but definately we are parking at their summer car park this December. Once car is in car park we get a free shuttle bus back to hotel.

When you drive into the drop off area, as you drive out onto the one way street, there is a turning to your left, which is into an area underneith onw wing of the hotel, part of the car park is under cover and the other area is outside and that's where the parking staff sit in their hut. Its only about 40 car park spaces. In Jan I parked here to hand over my keys and the car to the long term car park and where I picked up the car from when returning. It was covered in ice, so it might not have moved at all for the three weeks!

it tells you

Parking is at a long term car park, 5-8 minutes drive from the hotel. A car park voucher and directions are given at hotel check-in. The car park will take your car keys and no further access to the vehicle is permitted until returning for collection . A courtesy bus will transfer you back to the airport from the car park. The hotel is then a 2-minute walk from the South Terminal coach station through the walkway.

That's exactly where the car park was last time we stayed there - shame you can't leave your car there now

Suppose I'll have to wait till we go to find out what the situation is at any given time

Maybe they are saying its not actually their own personal long stay car park used in the 15 day prices but one that is used by other hotels?? Then they are right in saying they dont have their own long stay but facilitate one close by!! Knew I should'a taken the train!!
