Hilton Gatwick - Tesco vouchers - or not..?

Hiya all,
just wondered if anyone had used Tesco vouchers for the Hilton at Gatwick - I emailed them and they said you can use them, but they only take bookings with them a max 3 months in advance - is this too late ? How far in advance does anyone book for their airport stopover?

I just plan and arrange as soon as I can (obsessively some say!!!), and I find having to wait a bit stressful - but the chance of using £60 vouchers for a £240 room is tempting - if we will get a room...

Any ideas?

Tessa

For the Hilton Gatwick 3 months ahead should be fine. I would usually book the hotel as soon as I can but the tesco deals if you have enough vouchers is well worth it. Have a look on the tesco website if you want to put your mind at rest and see how many dates quite close still have a 'fully flexible' rate available. *Most* people aren't like us and the business crowd will book late so I wouldn't worry about the availability, plan on what you will do with the ££$$ you will be saving.

We have just done Purple parking with tesco clubcard and the saving is amazing.

Sorry to hijack but I tried to find the link for Purple Parking with Tesco vouchers the other day and couldn't - I thought they'd stopped using PP :confused3

Hi they stop Monday 30th April so I don't know if it is too late, you can book still before or on(?) Monday for up to 6 months in advance so if you already have deal vouchers you could still book. the link is

Thanks Steve - I know I worry too much sometimes...

But yep - I always have loads of vouchers - tesco credit card (paid off every month of course) for EVERYTHING!!

Cheers,
Tessa

RE the Hilton have you checked prices at holiday extras. You may find that you can get the hotel cheaper through them & save your vouchers to pay for parking.

We flew from Gatwick in Feb & staye dat the Sofiotel as it was cheaper than the Hilton but still joined to the airport.

I used tesco vouchers for my stay in December and had no problems booking 3 months ahead - it was a Friday night stay too! It costs £42 in Tesco vouchers and included breakfast. I plan to do it this year too!:)

We Booked using Tesco's vouchers for the beginning of August about 6 weeks ago Bed and Breakfast rate in a family room.
We could only use our vouchers for this rate and not for the DBB and room only.
The rate seems high but when your only using £60.00 worth of vouchers theres no comparison.

Thanks all, :goodvibes
sounds like there shouldn't be a problem waiting before booking... I did look at other hotels, but have stayed at the Hilton (pre voucher collecting days) and loved the set up there. And if we can't get a room there, I guess there are soooo many hotels around the airport that we should get somewhere...

We thought about using the vouchers for parking instead, but we will be taking the National Express coach as we do not fancy the drive back to Gloucestershire in zombie mode - last time we went we took the coach too - and slept most of the way back - and the rest of the day - and most of the next day too!!!

Cheers,
Tessa
