A few months ago a budget boarder posted her "friends" code for all of us to use. (That's perfectly legal--it is not the limited "family" code). I can't find my copy.

Does anybody here know the code?

Or, a super-duper code/promotion for any DTD hotel for Feb?

www.hiltonfamilymvp.com

That site will get you 20% off at a large number of Hilton properties. You do have to sign up for the program, but all you need is a Hilton Honors # to do so. I put in test days of 2/10-2/13 and got the following rates:

Doubletree @ DD $127.20 per night
Hilton @ DD $135.20 per night

I have no idea what your actual dates are or what typical rates are for those hotels. We always stay on site so I have never needed to book either of the hotels at Downtown Disney. Hope that helps a little bit!

Someone else had posted their special link to their friends and family discount for Holiday Inn (InterContinental Hotels) rates. Not sure if it is still good so I am hesitant about posting the link. Maybe that person can chime in (Amy)??

The Hilton MVP program states:

Press Credentials are required at check in.
Subject to availability restrictions at each Hotel.
Restrictions: Must be requested. Do not offer. Press
Credentials are required at check-in.Individual sports
traveler program. Travelers will have direct affiliation
with professional sports clubs,collegiate athletic
departments or amateur sportsAssociations.

So it doesn't sound like it's for anyone to use, unfortunately. The rates are good!

I'm fairly sure that when I signed up for the program (I travel almost weekly for work and often use this site for my reservations) that it is only the Homewood Suites that specifies the requirement of press credentials. The other hotels in the Hilton family just require the Hilton Honors number. Maybe something has changed, and if so, I apologize for posting the link.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites using the Hilton MVP and the description was as stated above. I inquired about it and they said all we needed was the Hilton membership card. I would recommend just asking them first but I don't see any problem with it. We loved the Homewood Suites Lake Buena Vista!

I just wanted to update this thread and say that I used the MVP rate a few minutes ago to book a Hilton Garden Inn in Lousiana, and my suite rate dropped from $131 to $116 (and the $131 was the AAA/AARP rate). All I needed was my Hilton Honors # (talked directly to the HH MVP desk). Thanks for the information!

Thanks so much for posting this! I did a search for our trip to Philadelphia in Aug and it will save us over $20 a night. I read the small print and all it says is that a HH # is required :thumbsup2

Right, that's my understanding too. I've been a HH member for years and never heard about this until I found it by accident last night. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Just saved $40/nt off our Pensacola beach ressie for cheer next month!:thumbsup2

Yes, I posted the link originally and I am still using it years later. All you need is a Hilton Honors number :thumbsup2

Occasionally the MVP rate won't be available for my dates but I would say at least 9 times out of 10 I am able to use it for a discount.

As you can tell by my name, we're into horse shows, so I checked several over the next few months. I only found one where it didn't give me a better rate (assuming there is a HH affiliated hotel).

Between this and the Friends and Family Holiday Inn link another poster put on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board, I think I'm covered pretty well! :thumbsup2

I was just able to book DTD Hilton King bed for 4/6/13 for one night for $79.20 with tax and resort fee comes to $113.85 and I get a full refund if I cancel 5 days prior to reservation. Saved me about $30 off the non-refundable rate they are currently offering general public. :thumbsup2

Thanks OP!!!:)
