Hilton BVP (Disney Springs) - Temporary Closing

YIKES!

The only good news is that if people need to stay in Orlando I would assume there is plenty of availability.

That's so strange, I was looking at this hotel for November and they are accepting reservations. I wonder if they are closed for a short time?

On another note, I have never stayed at a "Non-Disney" resort. How are the Hilton shuttle systems? Does anyone have a preference of the different Hilton Resorts that are part of the "official WDW Hotel" offerings?

Thanks in advance!

Probably Hilton Lake Buena Vista has the better rooms, but really very close in quality to Hilton BVP. I really like the breakfast restaurant and the lazy river at HIlton BVP. I haven't stayed at Doubletree in years, but the rooms are suites. The shuttles are just ok, infrequent and most go to 2 parks so they can be slow. I usually either walk to Congress Park at Saratoga Springs or Disney Springs for a Disney bus, or just take uber/lyft, which is pretty cheap there. The value for money at the Hiltons is really much better than what you'll get at Disney owned hotels, especially if you are a member of Hilton Honors. Pre-COVID, it was great because these hotels do qualify for Extra Magic Hours and 60-day fastpass+ booking.

Oh, and one reason I love staying at those hotels (or the Wyndham LBV) - it's so great to finish the day at the parks, take a bus to Disney Springs, have dinner/drinks/hangout at Disney Springs and then walk right to the hotel for bed. Great way to end the evening. (caveat: I haven't been to Disney Springs since the COVID closing, so I know the nightlife isn't what it used to be.)
