Hilton building 2 Hotels at Bonnet Creek

hey it has taken them long enough......

the Fairfield has been the only thing for several YEARS....

remember the Hilton DD is a limited contract - WDW takes it back in 2070....

lets hope this really gets built....

Here's a link to Hilton's press release this week.

Sounds like they'll be pulling out all the stops. After picking up my jaw, I realized this is still a ways off... they're looking at opening in 3 years, summer of 2009. Eventually, this would add some real appeal to this whole development (which also happens be the anticipated time for final build-out of the current Fairfield resort at Bonnet Creek). With the proposed Wyndham Hotel, this could make 3 of the potential 5 hotels (plus Fairfield) to be built would be completed around the same time.

This announcement says they will include 500 rooms at the new Waldorf-Astoria and 1,000 at the new Hilton, a Rees Jones golf course, several upscale restaurants and retail sites at each hotel, ballrooms/convention center and a shared (between the Waldorf-Astoria and the Hilton) state-of-the-art spa facility. If this moves forward as announced, it will be very nice, indeed. :)

Gee, who's next coming to Orlando? There's already the Gaylord Palms Opryland, Ritz-Carlton and apparently an Intercontinental is to be built near the Convention Center on S. Int'l Dr. :thumbsup2
