Anyone ever stay at the Hilton in Downtown Disney? :confused3 If I am reading right, it still qualifies for all the Disney resort perks (EMH, buses...) Right? Wondering what this hotel is like. Family of 11 are looking for a place to stay. Suites and connecting rooms information appreciated!:thumbsup2
Thanks:cool1:

I'm debating using my HH points at Hilton or paying for a value resort. I would like to know is the being on Disney property really worth $600

Hi
We have stayed at the DTD Hilton twice. Both times have only been for one night either at the beginning of a Disney trip or at the end. We used points for both stays and had great experiences both times. The rooms were clean. Once we were upgrated to a suite with a view of DTD from the balcony. The other time in a regular room. The first time, we were going to use the bus system provided, but waited for 30 minutes then decided to drive. I do think they have a regular schedule, so this would help to obtain a copy when checking in. I would stay there again. I don't think you would be disappointed.:) Enjoy your trip!

It was nice...they have a Benihanas which was really good! The pool area was pretty nice as well. The hotel was clean, which is always important! The only thing I didn't like was the shuttle service. It took forever for the shuttles to come, they were crowded and the drivers weren't very friendly. It totally took the Disney "magic" out of it! It was my first time staying somewhere and going to Disney other than the Marriott/Marriott Timeshares and I thought how much better it was to just take the rental car to the parks since the shuttle was so bad. But, then I ended up staying on property a few years later and I realized that the Hilton isn't exactly on Disney property and the shuttles from the actual Disney hotels are MUCH better. Plus, when you stay on property you can get the Disney dining plan which is beyond awesome. However, the hotel itself was nice and the staff was friendly. I didn't have any problems.

You get the EMH's. But you don't get Disney busses, you get Mears busses shared by the other DTD resorts. But, if you want to walk the one block to DTD you can ride those busses, which are Disney. The walk was no longer than what you may find at a Disney resort to get to the busstop from your room there.

I caught the first bus of the morning at the resort, which was practically empty, but then rode the Disney busses at all the other times. The Mears busses do not have designated stops at the parks and sort of drop you off and pick you up near them (but in the line of traffic, which can be a little hectic).

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that we could just walk to the Disney buses. That makes it even better. I don'y imagine we will be at the hotal more than for sleep anyway.
Keep any updates coming!:thumbsup2
